This exploitation is carried out in parallel with the preservation of ethnic identities, aiming for sustainable tourism development. The upcoming "Colors of Son La" event in Da Nang is a key tourism promotion activity, contributing to promoting the local image, expanding linkages and tourism markets. This is also a strategic step to spread the image of a Son La rich in identity, friendly and attractive to domestic and international tourists.

Many unique festivals such as Het Cha, Hoa Ban Festival, Hair Washing Festival, Son Tra Flower Festival, Fruit Picking Festival, Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week on National Day (September 2nd), the Xen Ban - Xen Muong ceremony of the Thai people, the Pang A ritual of the La Ha people, the Mang Ma ritual of the Xinh Mun people, the Gau Tao Festival of the Mong people… have become cultural and tourism events held annually, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists.
Along with that is a treasure trove of unique intangible cultural heritage such as Thai Xoe dance (recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity), folk songs, folk dances, traditional rituals, and traditional crafts such as brocade weaving, basket weaving, blacksmithing of agricultural tools, and making Do paper... To boost tourism development, Son La will organize the "Colors of Son La" event from June 19-23, 2025 at Bien Dong Park, Vo Nguyen Giap Street, Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City.

“Son La Colors” will be a space that brings together the cultural, tourism, culinary, and local products of Son La. The program includes prominent activities such as: the “Son La Colors” art program; organizing survey trips to connect tourism between Son La and Da Nang; and the Son La - Da Nang Tourism Promotion Conference. The conference will feature notable activities such as: an exhibition space to promote and introduce tourism products, publications, and OCOP products of Son La; presentations on tourism resources, tourism products, the land and people of Son La and Da Nang; presentations by businesses from both provinces and cities on tourism products, stimulus packages, and solutions for tourism development linkages; and discussions on solutions and linkages for tourism development between Son La and Da Nang. In addition, the exhibition of beautiful photographs showcasing Son La's tourism resources, land, and people, along with booths introducing Son La's culture, tourism, and OCOP products, including a space for introducing and performing ethnic culture (Xoe dance, Sap dance, Tung Con game, and showcasing the unique cultural features of Son La province…), will also attract visitors to explore and experience.
Through this event, Son La province not only hopes to spread the image of the beautiful and hospitable Northwest region to the people of Da Nang in particular and the Central region in general, especially the brand of "World's Leading Natural Destination" for Moc Chau National Tourist Area, Son La Hydropower Reservoir Tourist Area, Ta Xua Tourist Area..., but also to open doors for cooperation, tour and route linkages, exchange of tourists and tourism development experiences between localities.
Furthermore, this is also an opportunity for districts, cities, tourist areas, villages, restaurants, hotels, and tourism cooperatives in Son La province to introduce their unique tourism products, ethnic cultural identities, and local specialties to people and tourists in Da Nang city.
