At the workshop, delegates watched a video clip and a draft explanatory note on the project to recognize Moc Chau National Tourist Area. The explanatory note was made by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province in coordination with the Vietnam Institute for Tourism Development Research in the form of slide presentations, including 5 parts: The necessity of proposing to recognize the National Tourist Area; The role, position and current status of development of Moc Chau National Tourist Area; Assessment of the current status of Moc Chau National Tourist Area according to the criteria for recognizing the National Tourist Area; Orientation and plan for developing the National Tourist Area; Conclusion and recommendations.

Delegates contributed many ideas to complete the content of the draft explanation on the conditions for recognition of Moc Chau national tourist area. The focus was on supplementing and unifying data of the criteria, especially the weak and unsatisfactory criteria of Moc Chau national tourist area; supplementing visual explanations of some activities related to waste collection and treatment, environment, aesthetic service facilities, physiotherapy, health care, etc. to increase the persuasiveness of the project explanation before completing the dossier to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Moc Chau National Tourist Area is located in the Southeast of Son La province, in the area of ​​​​Moc Chau and Van Ho districts with a total planning area of ​​​​206,150 hectares according to Decision No. 128/QD-TTg dated January 25, 2019 of the Prime Minister on Approval of the Master Plan for the construction of Moc Chau National Tourist Area, Son La province to 2030. Moc Chau National Tourist Area is one of 12 potential points of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, one of 46 potential points of the whole country oriented to develop into a national tourist area with outstanding advantages in natural resources and cultural resources for tourism development...

Speaking at the workshop, comrade Trang Thi Xuan requested the units implementing the explanation to absorb the comments of the delegates, edit and complete the explanation of the project to recognize Moc Chau national tourist area and finalize the data by December 29; assign Moc Chau, Van Ho districts and related departments and branches to coordinate in guiding service businesses in the area to focus on completing all conditions according to the criteria; synthesize data on beauty care facilities, sports, hospitals, signs, advertisements, publicize hotlines to receive feedback from tourists in the area... and send them to departments and branches to add to the draft explanation. Strive to complete the explanation in January 2024 and send it to the National Tourism Administration for final appraisal to submit the dossier to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to recognize Moc Chau national tourist area.
