1. In 2023, in the context of many difficulties, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the province continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, strive to rise up and achieve many important and comprehensive results in all fields. The total product in the province increased positively compared to 2022; the economic structure shifted in a positive direction, in line with the development goals of the province. The budget revenue in the area is estimated at 4,250 billion VND, completing the estimate assigned by the Central Government.

2. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production continued to develop, becoming an important pillar in the province's economic structure. The total area of ​​fruit trees and hawthorn trees reached 84,160 hectares, with an output of over 455,000 tons, an increase of 25.6% over the same period last year (has been consumedc 437,940 tons, with a value of 4,540 billion dong); total area of ​​perennial industrial crops reached 31,388 hectares, up 4.4% over the same period last year; there are over 20,000 hectares of Arabica coffee, output reached over 215,000 tons of fresh fruit, estimated value reached over 2,570 billion VND; 27 products bearing the province's geographical name were granted protection certificates, an increase of 03 products compared to 2022; 05 high-tech agricultural zones, an increase of 03 zones compared to 2022; 280 safe food and seafood supply chains, an increase of 39 chains compared to 2022.

Trade and service activities are promoted; supply and demand of goods are stable, meeting people's consumption needs; total retail sales of goods are estimated at 30,800 billion VND, up 13.6% over the same period last year. Promotion, advertising, and connection for consumption of agricultural products are effectively implemented; the value of exported goods is estimated at 186.8 million USD, up 6.9% over the same period last year. The tourism sector has grown strongly; in 2023, the total number of tourists to Son La is estimated at 4.5 million, up 41% over the previous year; revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 4,700 billion VND, up 58.2% over the previous year. 4. The industrial sector continues to receive attention for development. The internal structure of the industrial sector has changed in line with the direction of restructuring the sector, increasing the proportion of the processing and manufacturing industry, gradually reducing the mining industry. Hydropower plants in the province continue to maintain safe operations. Actively attracting enterprises to invest in the agricultural processing sector; putting into operation the Son La Coffee Processing Factory; the Song Lam Tay Bac Fertilizer Factory; and the Cascara tea processing line of Phuc Sinh Joint Stock Company.

5. The socio-economic infrastructure system in the province continues to receive investment attention in a synchronous manner, creating momentum for socio-economic development. Complete the planning of Son La province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval; cover the urban subdivision planning on the master plan. Prepare to invest in the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway project (section through Son La province); Na San Airport has been included in the Master Plan for the development of the national airport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Medical examination, treatment, health care and protection for the people have been effectively implemented. The quality of education and training has been improved; the rate of candidates passing the high school graduation exam reached 99.68%, an increase of 0.08 percentage points compared to 2022. Social security work has been fully and promptly implemented; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved; by the end of 2023, the poverty rate has decreased to 14.41%, exceeding the plan by 1.25 percentage points.
