From exemplary official to respected figure trusted and loved by the people.
After traveling dozens of kilometers along winding dirt roads to Long Bo village, Chieng Hoa commune, we heard many locals tell stories about Mr. Giang A Cho, who is considered a "tall and mighty tree" in this highland region.
In our conversation with him, we learned that Mr. Cho had previously served as the Chairman of the Farmers' Association of the commune.Chieng CongHe was an old man. After retiring, the villagers continued to trust him and entrusted him with the important responsibility of being the village head. In 2019, Mr. Cho was recognized as a village elder and a respected figure.
Over the years, Mr. Cho has consistently set a good example, acting as a "bridge" between the government and the local people, encouraging them to preserve the customs, traditions, and culture of their ethnic group.
To help the local people overcome poverty, Mr. Cho actively encouraged households to switch from growing corn and cassava to growing lacquer trees and elephant grass, expanding the area of terraced fields; and applying advanced techniques to production.
At the same time, they actively participate in mediating conflicts and disputes within families in the village. They propagate and mobilize the people to participate in the "All People Protect National Security" movement; actively prevent and combat drug abuse and social evils; encourage people to build a civilized and economical lifestyle in organizing funerals and weddings; and preserve and promote the traditional values of the nation...

Mr. Giàng A Chơ shared: "Having served as a commune and village official, I have always deeply understood the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. I always consider it my duty and responsibility to disseminate information, mobilize support, and educate the people."
"As the village elder and a respected figure in the community, I always work actively with the village management board to propagate and encourage villagers to strictly adhere to the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations. I actively participate in the movement of solidarity and mutual assistance to develop the economy and alleviate poverty," Mr. Cho confided.

Every word he spoke resonated with the people, earning their trust and obedience. When new policies were introduced, he didn't just present them in a dry, formal manner, but also explained them thoroughly, using practical examples to make them easy for the people to understand and implement.
One of Mr. Cho's most important roles is resolving conflicts and disputes within the community.

Disputes over land, water resources, or family conflicts, which seemed insurmountable, were all handled smoothly thanks to his expertise and reputation.
He used not only logic and law but also human compassion and customs to analyze and explain cases. The issues were resolved quickly and fairly, avoiding lingering conflicts and strengthening community bonds.

Life in Long Bo village is changing for the better today. Sturdy wooden houses with fiber cement roofs are springing up, and concrete roads within the village, built with government investment, have further motivated the villagers to strive for a better life.
