Upon review,Son LaCurrently, there are 13 border communes with nearly 36,000 primary and lower secondary school students, along with more than 2,000 teachers. However, to date, these communes do not have boarding schools; many semi-boarding schools are limited and do not adequately meet the learning needs. Therefore, investing in the construction of a comprehensive boarding school system is identified as an urgent requirement, contributing to ensuring equity in access to education, improving the quality of teaching and learning, reducing the dropout rate, and creating conditions for children of ethnic minorities in border areas to study and develop comprehensively.
Recently, Son La province organized working groups led by provincial leaders to directly survey the terrain, location, and transportation conditions in 13 border communes. Based on this, the Provincial People's Committee proposed the construction of...13 boarding schools for all levels of education.in the communes of: Muong Leo, Sop Cop, Muong Lan, Chieng Khoong, Muong Hung, Chieng Khuong, Phieng Pan, Yen Son, Phieng Khoai, Long Phieng, Long Sap, Chieng Son and Xuan Nha.
Of these, 11 schools will be completely newly built; 2 schools are planned for renovation and upgrading. The total estimated investment needed is nearly 2,700 billion VND. Each school will have 30 classrooms, serving approximately 1,000 students.
At the meeting, the Department of Education and Training, along with other departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of border communes, focused on discussing and proposing solutions to overcome difficulties and accelerate the completion of documentation for early implementation of construction. According to a quick report from the leaders of 13 border communes, the localities proactively organized meetings to solicit public opinion, reviewed the current land use status, and preliminarily identified locations with favorable conditions for construction.Build schools.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet suggested that departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of border communes should pay special attention to and prioritize these projects, focusing on leadership and direction to quickly finalize the planning and prepare all necessary conditions for investment and construction.
