Focus on implementing prevention of fires, explosions, accidents, and serious incidents. At the same time, be ready to organize timely and effective fire fighting and rescue, minimize damage, protect the safety of State assets, and the lives and property of the people.
Along with fire prevention and fighting, the unit also effectively handles incidents and accidents occurring in the area, participates in flood and storm prevention and control, search and rescue, and overcomes the consequences of natural disasters... During storms and floods, fire prevention and rescue soldiers always stay at vulnerable places, ready to face danger to help and support people, evacuate people and their belongings to safe places; coordinate with functional forces to search for missing people due to landslides and floods.
In recent days, the flood situation has caused many serious consequences in some localities in the province, such as Chieng Khuong, Song Ma, Muong Lam, Huoi Mot, Chieng So... causing great damage to the people. For example, on August 1, in Quyet Thang village, Chieng Khuong commune, due to rising flood water, 6 people were trapped far from the shore, endangering their lives; at that time, the water was deep and the flow was fast, making it difficult to approach. Fire Prevention and Rescue Police used ropes, life jackets and deployed a rescue team, swimming 300 meters in the fast-flowing flood water to approach and successfully rescue 6 people who were trapped for many hours in the flooded area.
Directly participating in the rescue in Chieng Khuong commune, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dinh Phu, Deputy Head of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Team, said: Immediately after arriving at the scene, my colleagues and I quickly deployed rescue measures. Although the floodwaters were high at that time, I thought that we had to respond quickly at all costs and bring people to safety.
Captain Cam Thanh Tung, Deputy Head of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Song Ma area, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, shared: Being proactive and ready to respond to any situation, the unit regularly organizes training, physical training, fighting spirit, skills, fully equips officers and soldiers with protective equipment; is on duty 24/7, ready to respond quickly, and be present promptly when an emergency situation occurs.
Identifying propaganda as one of the important tasks, since the beginning of the year, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department has coordinated with the Political Affairs Department, the Provincial Police, Son La Newspaper and Radio and Television, and localities to promote propaganda on mass media; organized 213 mobile propaganda sessions on fire trucks to recommend conditions to ensure fire prevention and fighting and rescue safety in localities before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the dry season and local political, cultural and social events. Coordinated propaganda on fire prevention and fighting at 9 locations, with 1,756 participants; signed a commitment to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety for 340 establishments. Along with that, replicated typical and advanced models in the mass movement of fire prevention and fighting and rescue. Of which, built 217 models of inter-family fire prevention and fighting safety teams; 164 public fire fighting points; 5 models of "Model markets ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety and rescue"; 3 models of "Model hotels meeting fire safety standards"; maintain and replicate 322 models of "Fire safety residential clusters".
