On August 28th, at the National Exhibition Center in Hanoi, General Secretary To Lam, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition showcasing the country's achievements, "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness," commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2nd, 1945 - September 2nd, 2025).

Also attending were members of the Politburo, Secretaries of the Central Committee of the Party, members of the Central Committee of the Party; leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; leaders of central committees, ministries, branches and agencies; numerous corporations, general companies and enterprises; representatives of overseas Vietnamese; diplomatic agencies and international organizations.

On the Son La province side, attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition were Comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and leaders of several departments and agencies of the province.

The exhibition was organized on the largest scale ever, with the full participation of ministries and central agencies, 34 provinces and cities, and more than 110 large enterprises and economic groups with over 230 booths across the entire area of the Exhibition Center (inside the Kim Quy Exhibition House and the outdoor exhibition area in the four East, West, South, and North courtyards).

The exhibition showcases the achievements of nearly 180 industries across various fields, featuring numerous documents, artifacts, machinery and equipment, documentaries, and news reports, vividly and comprehensively reflecting the outstanding achievements throughout the "80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness" journey of our nation under the leadership of the Party. It also demonstrates the cultural traditions, the enthusiastic work ethic, and the efficient production and business activities of the people and enterprises throughout the country. In particular, it portrays the image of Vietnam and its people with its glorious history spanning thousands of years; a rich national culture and unity in diversity among the 54 ethnic groups; the abundance of products across all three regions of the country; and the development and progress of all ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as the 34 provinces and cities over the past 80 years.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: This exhibition not only showcases achievements but also serves as vivid evidence of the enormous potential of the cultural and entertainment industries and the remarkable creativity of the Vietnamese people in harmoniously and effectively combining political, economic, cultural, and historical content with modern and attractive presentation, affirming the value of Vietnamese culture, the commercialization potential of Vietnamese creative products, and contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of the country.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and coordinate with ministries, sectors, localities and businesses to continue to meticulously prepare and organize all exhibitions, art programs, conferences, exchanges, meetings, forums, etc., so that people in the country and international friends can experience, appreciate, and be proud of the country's achievements and enjoy the fruits of the National Exhibition Center as a new symbol of the Capital and the whole country.

Along with 34 other provinces and cities nationwide, Son La province presents a special exhibition space with the theme "Son La - Historical Imprints, Cultural Colors, and Aspirations for Development". The exhibition space displays artifacts, images, and models, combined with cultural and artistic performances and experiences of the unique identity of Son La's ethnic groups. It also utilizes digital technologies such as interactive screens, LED displays, lighting effects, and sound to recreate, promote, introduce, and highlight the image of Son La province – a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, becoming a center of green agricultural economy and a leading natural destination in the world during the period of integration and development.
