Overcoming difficulties and challenges, looking back at nearly 40 years of implementing the reform process, Son La province has achieved tremendous accomplishments. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, in the right direction and in line with the province's economic development goals. Agricultural production has developed towards improving productivity and product quality, linked with the application of high technology; industry has developed towards gradually increasing the proportion of processing industries and increasing the proportion of domestic value in products; and the service sector has focused on developing industries with competitive advantages. The material and spiritual lives of the people have improved significantly; the economy, culture, society, and development opportunities have been increasingly realized; the unity of ethnic groups has been continuously strengthened; national defense and security have been firmly consolidated, creating an important foundation for the province to continue developing more rapidly and sustainably in the next phase.
