Currently, it is the peak season for lychee harvesting in Son La, with an estimated yield of around 200,000 tons.
Regarding longan, the locality is currently in the peak harvesting season. In the past 8 months, the total longan harvest reached 97,500 tons, generating a value of 1.125 billion VND, achieving nearly 63% of the annual plan; of which about 62,000 tons were processed, and the rest were consumed fresh domestically.
The selling price of fresh longan fruit ranges from 10,000-15,000 VND/kg; longan used for processing into dried longan ranges from 5,000-9,000 VND/kg.

Deep processing is one of the three forms of fruit product consumption in Son La.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, Son La's longan crop is bountiful this year; production could increase by about 50,000 tons compared to the initial estimate.
Therefore, the province is resolutely implementing many solutions to ensure the timely consumption of longan and other seasonal fruit products for farmers, limiting congestion during the peak harvest season.

Strawberries and persimmons from Son La will be harvested in the last months of the year.
One of the key solutions that Son La focuses on is promoting investment attraction, inviting businesses and cooperatives to participate in investment, trade, and tourism promotion programs organized by the central government and localities; organizing working groups to support businesses and cooperatives in connecting and expanding agricultural product markets in key domestic and international markets...
"Son La has already shipped plums and strawberries on international flights; we will continue to ship longan, especially the new 'golden longan,' on flights. Although we haven't produced much yet, Son La's golden longan is a testament to the application of science and technology in production. In addition, the province will continue to introduce agricultural products into supermarkets and retail markets nationwide and focus on deep processing, striving to successfully achieve the goal of agricultural product consumption by 2025," Mr. Cong said.
