On September 9, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien chaired the Trade Promotion Conference with the Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad in August 2025 with the theme of Diversifying markets, export products, diversifying import sources to promote growth in import-export turnover in 2025.

The conference was held both in person and online, with the participation of leaders of units under the Ministry, representatives of Vietnam Trade Offices abroad, and representatives of Associations, industries, and 34 provinces and cities. Attending the conference at the Son La province bridge were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.
At the conference, the Trade Promotion Agency reported on the production and import-export situation in the first 8 months of 2025, and proposed a scenario for growth in import-export turnover for the last months of the year. The report emphasized the urgent need to diversify market prices, export products and import sources, considering this the key to maintaining growth in the context of a volatile global market.

Discussing at the Conference, representatives of industry associations such as textiles, footwear, supporting industries, vegetables, seafood processing and export, pepper, wooden furniture and handicrafts, and localities pointed out difficulties in the process of market expansion. Opinions focused on removing technical barriers, reducing logistics costs, improving processing capacity, and at the same time recommending the Government and ministries and branches to continue to have timely support policies to improve competitiveness.
From key markets, representatives of the Vietnam Trade Office in the United States, Belgium, the EU, China and many other trade offices updated import-export information and proposed many trade promotion solutions. The proposals focused on taking advantage of incentives from free trade agreements (FTAs), promoting business connections, expanding distribution networks, building brands and developing products in a sustainable manner.
