(Phu Yen) On January 20th, in Huy Tan commune, the Humanitarian Television Center of Vietnam Television, in collaboration with the Phu Yen District People's Committee, organized the opening ceremony of the "Tet for Ethnic Minorities 2024" program. Attending the program were Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Government's Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, Nong Thi Ha; representatives from Vietnam Television; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province; and representatives from the Friendship Hospital. Representing Son La province was Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the leader of the Humanitarian Television Center shared: Phu Yen is one of the mountainous districts of Son La province, where about 88% of the population are ethnic minorities, and life is still full of difficulties and hardships. This year, the Center chose Phu Yen district, Son La province, as the venue with the hope of bringing a warm and joyful Tet holiday to the people. Through 5 successful "Tet for Ethnic Minorities" events in 5 provinces with a series of diverse activities, "Tet for Ethnic Minorities" has left many positive impressions in the hearts of the people. The journey full of love of "Tet for Ethnic Minorities" will continue to reach remote areas to ignite hope for a new year filled with good fortune, and for people to celebrate a warmer and more fulfilling Tet holiday.

"Tet for the People 2024" took place over two days, January 19th and 20th, 2023, with many meaningful activities such as: Offering incense at the historical site of the General Vo Nguyen Giap Temple; providing free medical examinations and medicine to 500 people; organizing a charity fair with zero cost for 500 people; visiting and giving Tet gifts to 5 families with special circumstances and poor households; giving Tet gifts to 500 poor families; awarding scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties; giving Social Insurance books to people; organizing traditional Tet folk games; making traditional banh chung (rice cakes)...
All activities of the "Tet for Ethnic Minorities 2024" program will be filmed and broadcast during the special time of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024 on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.
