On the evening of October 10th, at Northwest Square, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front solemnly organized the ceremony commemorating the 130th anniversary of the founding of Son La province (October 10, 1895 - October 10, 2025).

The commemorative speech, delivered by Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, highlighted the history of the formation, construction, and development of Son La province over the past 130 years. On October 10, 1895, Son La province was officially established with the initial name of Van Bu province, and in 1904 it was renamed Son La. Throughout its history, Son La province has continuously developed, achieving great successes in all fields of economy, society, national defense, security, political system building, and the Party's foreign affairs, especially in the nearly 40 years of implementing the reform process and deploying the two-tiered local government model towards being closer to the people, serving the people better. These great achievements are always closely linked to the wise leadership of the Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh; The attention, guidance, and support from the leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, central ministries and agencies, and localities throughout the country have been crucial to Son La's development throughout its construction and growth; as well as the continuous efforts of cadres, Party members, and people of all ethnic groups in the area.

The Provincial Party Secretary called upon all cadres, Party members, soldiers, and people of all ethnic groups in the province to uphold revolutionary traditions, demonstrate patriotism, self-reliance, and aspiration to continue building a stronger and more prosperous homeland, worthy of the expectations and trust of the Party, the State, and the people, contributing together with the whole country to building and firmly defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland, for the goal of"A prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization."

Speaking on behalf of the Party and State leaders at the commemoration ceremony, Comrade Le Minh Hoan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, acknowledged, praised, and congratulated the Party Committee, government, and people of Son La province on the significant achievements they have attained over the generations. He affirmed that, over 130 years of construction and development, Son La province has undergone a strong transformation from a poor province, striving to become a bright spot in the northern midland and mountainous region, holding an important position in the socio-economic, national defense, and security aspects of the Northwest region, especially in the development of fruit trees on sloping land, writing a story of change from a poor land to a symbol of aspiration for progress.
He expressed confidence that, with its revolutionary traditions, 130-year history, spirit of unity, patriotism, diligence, and perseverance, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province will achieve many great victories in the construction and development of socio-economic affairs, firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland, and contribute to building a prosperous, happy, and powerful socialist Vietnam.
