With the goal of developing sustainable commodity exports, associated with investment in developing economic - technical infrastructure, science - technology, digital transformation, developing digital economy, developing green, clean, sustainable, circular production and improving the quality of human resources, building and developing the brand of goods of Son La province; Developing exports associated with the planning and development plan of Son La province to promote competitive advantages, effectively exploit opportunities and limit the impact of challenges in implementing commitments to international economic integration, deeply participating in the global supply chain and value chain; Gradually shifting to direct export, through international trade contracts; Promoting goods participating in export to contribute to the development of green production, improving product quality. Thereby, positively impacting the processing and consumption of advantageous goods of the province in the domestic market and creating momentum for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of Son La province

In 2024, Son La province strives for the value of exported goods to reach 196.1 million USD, an increase of 5.07% compared to 2023 (of which, agricultural and food products participating in export will reach 186.8 million USD, an increase of 5.12% compared to 2023) contributing to socio-economic development, creating jobs for workers in the province, especially in ethnic minority areas, remote areas and border areas.

On export targets of agricultural and food products

- Fruit products: The value of exported fruit products strives to reach 34.22 million USD (an increase of 4.43% compared to 2023). Some main fruit products:

+ Mango products for export reached 12,900 tons (including 6,400 tons of fresh fruit; 5,500 tons of fresh mango for preliminary processing and export processing at factories inside and outside the province; 1,000 tons of IQF mango products, concentrated mango juice at the fruit processing factory of Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company). The value of mango products for export is expected to reach 5.6 million USD. Export markets: China, Australia, Japan, Korea, Russia, Mongolia....

+ Exported longan products reached 5,500 tons (including 1,000 tons of fresh longan fruit, 4,500 tons of longan). The value of exported longan products is expected to reach 24.9 million USD. Export markets: China, Japan, Korea...

+ Passion fruit products for export reached 1,700 tons. The value of passion fruit products for export is expected to reach 0.9 million USD. Export markets: China, EU countries (France, Switzerland...).

+ Banana products for export reached 6,000 tons. The value of banana products for export is expected to reach 1.8 million USD; Export market: China;

- Processed agricultural products and other agricultural products:The value of processed agricultural products and other agricultural products for export is expected to reach 152.58 million USD (an increase of 5.28% compared to 2023). Some main products:

+ Tea products for export are expected to reach 10,500 tons; the value of tea products for export is expected to reach 21.8 million USD; Export markets: China, Taiwan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Japan...

+ Coffee products for export are expected to reach 32,000 tons; the value of coffee products for export is over 89.3 million USD; EU, North America, United States, Middle East and ASEAN markets.

+ Exported cassava products reached about 100,000 tons (including 60,000 tons of cassava starch; 40,000 tons of cassava products such as dried cassava chips...); the value of exported cassava products reached 38.2 million USD. Market: China.

+ Other processed agricultural products (pineapple, sweet corn, spinach...) participating in export are expected to reach 2,600 tons; the value of other processed agricultural products (pineapple, sweet corn, spinach...) participating in export is 2.58 million USD. Processing unit: Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company in Ninh Binh and a branch in Son La province. Export markets: China, Australia, Japan, Korea, Russia, Mongolia....

About export targets of other products

The total value of other products of the province participating in exports in 2024 is expected to reach 9.3 million USD. The main export items include cement, textile products and other products.
