On October 26, the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts in Laos, Son La province, held a ceremony to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Traditional Day (October 30, 1949 - October 30, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Tradition Liaison Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; 350 delegates representing the Vietnamese volunteer army in Son La province to help Laos, and Lao students studying in Son La province.
At the program, delegates reviewed the formation, development and special friendship tradition of the Vietnamese volunteer army and military experts helping Laos. Accordingly, on October 30, 1949, the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party decided to establish "Vietnamese military forces assigned to perform international missions in Laos" named the Vietnamese Volunteer Army. This is a milestone marking the development and maturity of the military force on the Lao battlefield; affirming the correct line and viewpoint of our Party in performing international obligations. During the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, about 400,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers participated in work and combat on the Lao battlefield...

During the fighting in Laos, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts from Son La province have made many contributions, supporting Laos in building political bases, revolutionary bases, consolidating armed forces, developing people's war to meet the requirements of national liberation resistance. The glorious and heroic historical tradition of generations of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts performing international missions in Laos continues to be preserved, promoted and passed on to the younger generation to build and nurture the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, forever green, forever sustainable...
For the Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts in Laos, Son La province, in recent times, it has gathered generations of veterans participating in international missions in Laos to help poor members improve their lives and develop their family economy. In 2025, it supported a family of war veterans in Xieng Kho district, Hua Phan province (Laos) with 80 million VND; visited and wished the Vietnamese Embassy a Happy New Year Bun Pi May; participated in the opening ceremony of the 2025 - 2026 school year at schools with Lao students in the province.
On this occasion, the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Vietnam awarded certificates of merit to 1 group and 2 individuals with achievements in sponsoring and supporting Lao students in the 2024-2025 school year. The Liaison Committee of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Military Experts in Laos in Son La province presented gifts to Lao students studying in the province.
