From November 9th to 10th, 2025, Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, along with a delegation from the Embassy, visited and worked in Son La province.
On the morning of November 9, 2025, Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, chaired a meeting with the Delegation. Also present were Comrade Dang Ngoc Hau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives and specialists from various provincial agencies and units: the Provincial Party Committee Office; the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council; the Provincial People's Committee Office; the Department of Foreign Affairs; the Department of Finance; the Department of Agriculture and Environment; the Department of Industry and Trade; the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Department of Health; and the Thao Nguyen Ward Party Committee.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Son La province, Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem warmly welcomed the delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam to visit and work in the province. He affirmed that the friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, meticulously cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro, is a model symbol of international solidarity. He also expressed his appreciation for the valuable support and assistance that Cuba has given to Vietnam in general and Son La in particular during difficult times, especially the support in building the dairy farm.Moc ChauIn the 1970s and 1980s, thanks to the breeding cattle and livestock farming technology transferred from Cuba, Moc Chau has now become a "dairy capital" of Northern Vietnam.

The comrade also informed the Ambassador and the delegation about the outstanding achievements in various fields of Son La province in the past period: Along with the strong development of Moc Chau Farm.(now Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Joint Stock Company)Son La province continues to strongly shift towards developing the dairy farming industry in conjunction with the application of high technology, forming a production-processing-consumption linkage chain. Son La province hopes that in the future, the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam will continue to act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Cuban localities and Son La, especially in the fields of high-tech agriculture, education, health, culture, and tourism, contributing to further strengthening the special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Speaking at the meeting, the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam thanked the Provincial Party Secretary, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and the provincial departments and agencies for their thoughtful and warm welcome to the delegation. The Ambassador congratulated the province on its achievements in recent years and expressed his appreciation for the sincere and heartfelt assistance that Vietnam has given to Cuba during difficult times. The Ambassador affirmed that, in his role, he will strive to maintain and promote the cooperative relationship between the two countries, fostering connections between Cuban localities and Son La province to enhance exchanges and cooperation in many fields, especially in economic development, high-tech agricultural production, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism.
During the working visit, the delegation visited the Moc Chau Dairy Cattle Breeding Center, the Moc Chau Milk Factory, and a dairy farm in Thao Nguyen ward.
