(baosonla.gov.vn) - On January 26th, a delegation from Xaysomboun province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Lieutenant General Vongson-Inpanphim, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and extended New Year greetings to Son La province.

Receiving and working with the delegation, Son La province was represented by: Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Thai Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Trang Thi Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives from several provincial departments and agencies.
The delegation from Xaysomboun Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, expressed gratitude for the warm and friendly reception from Son La Province. They also expressed deep appreciation for Son La Province's selfless and dedicated assistance to Xaysomboun Province in various fields: training of local officials; training of human resources in the fields of health, culture, and education; and support for the construction of several infrastructure projects in the province. Lieutenant General Vongson-In Panphim hoped that the two provinces would continue to cooperate extensively in all areas. He also extended his best wishes for the New Year to the officials and people of Son La Province.

On behalf of Son La province, Comrade Lo Minh Hung briefly informed about the outstanding achievements in the economic, political, cultural, and social fields of Son La province in 2023. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee suggested that in the coming time, the two provinces continue to strengthen dialogue in various fields. In addition, Son La province committed to continuing to support Xaysomboun province in the areas already implemented. He expressed the hope that the two provinces would effectively implement the signed programs and projects.

On the same day, a delegation from the People's Council of Xaysomboun province, led by Mr. Khamphuthon-Vongphachan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, extended New Year greetings to the People's Council of Son La province. Mr. Nguyen Thai Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Son La province, and representatives from the People's Council's committees welcomed and worked with the delegation.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two provinces reviewed the special solidarity and friendship between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos in general, and between the people of Son La province and the people of Xaysomboun province in particular. On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Khamphuthon-Vongphachan extended New Year greetings to the leaders of the Son La Provincial People's Council and the people of Son La province. He requested the Son La Provincial People's Council to further discuss the operational model of the Provincial People's Council Office; the discussion and issuance of draft resolutions in the economic and social fields of the province.

On behalf of the Son La Provincial People's Council, Comrade Nguyen Thai Hung discussed the activities of the Provincial People's Council. He also wished the Xay Som Bun Provincial People's Council and the people of the ethnic groups in Xay Som Bun province unity and success in fulfilling the province's socio-economic development tasks for 2024.
