In 2025, amidst numerous difficulties and challenges, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Son La province effectively exercised its comprehensive, direct, and regular leadership role over the government sector; focusing on leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and Party building work, achieving many important results.

Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, Son La province's economy continues to grow at a considerable pace. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 2025 is estimated at VND 38,991.689 billion, an increase of 8.03% compared to 2024; GRDP per capita is projected at VND 71.6 million/person/year. State budget revenue reached VND 30,933 billion, including VND 5,200 billion from domestic sources, exceeding the assigned plan.
Agriculture is developing in an organic direction, applying high technology, with 9 high-tech agricultural zones, 218 planting area codes, and 262 safe agricultural product supply chains; many key products meet export requirements. Processing industry and energy continue to be drivers of growth; the hydropower system operates safely and stably.
Trade, services, and tourism activities maintained their growth momentum; the total number of tourists is estimated at 5.3 million, generating revenue of approximately 6,300 billion VND; export value reached 215 million USD. Public investment was decisively directed with a total planned capital of 8,505.028 billion VND, focusing on key projects.
Social security was ensured; the poverty rate decreased to 7.89%; 3,058 houses were completed under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; and the health insurance coverage rate reached 96.2%. Party building, inspection, supervision, administrative reform, and digital transformation were strengthened, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership and guidance by Party committees.
In 2026, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Son La province determined to continue improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization; leading the effective implementation of socio-economic development tasks in conjunction with Party building and rectification.
The focus is on striving for a GRDP growth rate of 8% or higher, a GRDP per capita exceeding 75 million VND; achieving a budget revenue of 5,050 billion VND; and total social investment of 25,100 billion VND. Emphasis will be placed on developing high-tech agriculture, processing industries, and tourism; accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital; reforming the administrative system; promoting digital transformation; and improving the investment and business environment.
In addition, we will continue to focus on social welfare and sustainable poverty reduction; maintain national defense and security; strengthen inspection, supervision, and the fight against corruption, waste, and negative practices; and contribute to the successful organization of Party congresses at all levels and the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
The achievements in 2025 further affirm the comprehensive leadership role of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Son La province in the operation of the government apparatus. With high political determination, unity, and discipline in leadership and direction, the Party Committee of the People's Committee of the province strives to successfully complete the goals of 2026, contributing to building a rapidly and sustainably developing Son La province, and improving the lives of the people.
