(sonla.gov.vn) On the afternoon of January 17th, the People's Committee of Son La province organized a tourism seminar with the theme: "Green and Sustainable Tourism - a Driving Force for the Development of Moc Chau National Tourist Area". Attending the seminar were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of various departments and agencies, the Tourism Association; People's Committees of communes and wards; and tourism businesses in the province.
In his opening remarks at the workshop, Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: The Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 term) has identified tourism development as one of the nine key tasks for the entire term, with the goal of focusing on developing tourism into a leading economic sector. Specifically, it clearly states the need to focus on developing the Moc Chau National Tourist Area with many unique tourism products, striving to become one of the leading tourist areas in the northern midland and mountainous region.

Concluding the workshop, Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that agencies, units, communes, wards, associations, and tourism businesses in Son La province seriously consider the consultations, proposals, and recommendations at this workshop to develop clear programs, plans, and solutions, leveraging strengths, overcoming limitations, and resolutely building and developing Son La tourism in general, and Moc Chau National Tourist Area in particular, into a safe, attractive destination and a bright spot on the Vietnamese tourism map. He also urged them to focus on researching, developing, and upgrading agricultural tourism, community tourism, and cultural festival tourism products based on their unique potential and competitive advantages, ensuring sustainability, greenness, cleanliness, professionalism, and quality, thereby contributing to the formation of a system of typical and unique tourism products for Son La province in general and Moc Chau in particular. This includes identifying and developing tourism products that meet international standards and the trends of international tourists, while simultaneously building a roadmap to make Moc Chau's tourism products, and Son La's in general, competitive in prestigious national, regional, and global tourism awards. Attention should also be paid to implementing solutions to expand the diverse and rich tourist market and attract international tourists to Moc Chau and Son La province. This requires focusing on market research, studying market segments suitable for the existing local products, and simultaneously researching and implementing groundbreaking and distinctive promotional activities to bring the Moc Chau and Son La tourism brand closer and more professionally to domestic and international tourists.
