VOV.VN - By effectively exploiting its agricultural potential and local advantages, Son La has strongly developed the "One Commune, One Product" program with 214 OCOP products, contributing to affirming brands in the domestic market and aiming for export, increasing the value of agricultural products and income for rural people.
Leveraging its existing potential and advantages, Son La province has focused on developing products under the "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program, contributing to further enhancing the value of the province's typical products. Many OCOP products from Son La have established their brand and quality, conquered the domestic market, and are gradually expanding into the global market.
To date, the province has accumulated 214 OCOP products, including 5 main groups: food, beverages, herbal products, souvenirs, and rural tourism services. Among these, there is 1 five-star product, 62 four-star products, and 151 three-star products. The development of OCOP products has created momentum for agriculture, rural areas, and farmers in the province, fostering farmers' creativity and forming linkages in production and consumption, especially by promoting and selling products through digital platforms.

Son La now has 214 OCOP products, nearly 10 times more than five years ago.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, from the Tay Bac Cooperative in Yen Chau commune, Son La province, expressed: “Products recognized as OCOP products are closely linked to the development of e-commerce; they are inseparable. This is because it's a way to both produce quality products and promote them so that those good products reach consumers and are accepted by them.”

Many distinctive and typical agricultural products have been and are being developed in Son La into OCOP products.
To improve the quality of OCOP products, over the years, Son La province has strengthened guidance, perfected production processes, upgraded factories, machinery and equipment, designed product labels and packaging, obtained food safety certifications, published quality standards, codes, barcodes, and affixed traceability labels... ensuring compliance with regulations.
Currently, Son La maintains and manages 216 planting area codes, including 200 export planting area codes with a total area of over 2,650 hectares; and 16 crop planting area codes with a total area of nearly 180 hectares.
