Son La Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Van Nghiem emphasized that Son La is located in a strategic position.Northwest regionSon La plays a crucial role in connecting the northern midland and mountainous regions with the Hanoi Capital Region. In the context of the whole country promoting regional linkages and developing synchronized infrastructure, Son La is facing new opportunities to expand its development space.

Based on the Resolution14th Congress of the PartyIn accordance with the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2025–2030, the Provincial Party Committee has clearly defined key tasks with long-term strategic significance. According to the Provincial Party Secretary, developing socio-economic infrastructure, especially transportation infrastructure, is identified as a crucial breakthrough.
In particular, the province prioritizes investment in the expressway along National Highway 6 to strengthen connectivity between Son La and Hanoi and other provinces in the Northwest region. At the same time, the province focuses on upgrading the transportation system from the provincial center to the centers of communes, villages, and hamlets, creating favorable conditions for people to develop production and improve their living standards.

Party Secretary Hoang Van Nghiem stated that, along with infrastructure, agriculture continues to be identified as the backbone of the local economy.Son LaThe development orientation for sustainable agriculture is linked to the application of high technology, digital transformation, and deep processing industries, aiming to increase the added value of agricultural products.
"The province is focusing on building brands, strengthening production-consumption linkages, expanding domestic and international markets, thereby increasing income and improving the lives of farmers," the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.
Alongside agriculture, Son La province focuses on industrial development, especially the energy industry. According to the Provincial Party Secretary, the province has many potentials and advantages for developing renewable energy sources such as hydropower, wind power, solar power, and biomass power. Efficiently exploiting these energy sources will not only contribute to economic growth but also align with the green, sustainable development orientation, harmonizing development and environmental protection.
Regarding the tourism sector, Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem believes that Son La has ample room to develop unique tourism products linked to its natural landscapes.cultural identity of ethnic groupsand traditional heritage values. Tourism development is considered an important direction to diversify the economic structure and create sustainable livelihoods for people, especially in remote areas.

To realize the set goals, according to the Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, the locality will continue to improve the investment environment, create favorable conditions to attract businesses, and develop the private economy and cooperatives.
