The artisans of Pán sub-district, Thuận Châu commune, teach the use of traditional musical instruments.
On weekends, at the Pán sub-district cultural center in Thuận Châu commune, the sounds of the khene, pi, and đàn tính (traditional Thai musical instruments) resound joyfully. Elderly men and women play lively and cheerful melodies together. The music blends with the cheerful cheers of school-aged children, who listen intently and follow the movements of their grandparents' performances. The traditional musical instrument group, part of the Pán sub-district's Intergenerational Self-Help Club, has been established and maintained for many years, becoming a cultural space for the elderly and folk artists of the Thái ethnic group, spreading love and responsibility for preserving ethnic culture to the community and the younger generation.
Mr. Luong Van Dom, a member of the traditional music group, shared: "On weekends, especially during the summer, the grandparents look after their grandchildren while teaching them to play traditional Thai musical instruments such as the tinh tau, the erhu, and the khen be. The grandmothers also teach the children how to embroider the piêu scarf and the Thai xòe dance, hoping that the younger generation will continue to preserve the beautiful cultural heritage of our ethnic group."

Known as the "Hmong flute master" in the Hmong community, Mr. Trang A Lu, from Hua Tat village, Van Ho commune, is always enthusiastic and passionate about preserving the art of playing the Hmong flute. Mr. Lu said: "The Hmong flute plays a particularly important role in the spiritual life and beliefs of the Hmong people. However, there are not many people left who know how to play the flute skillfully, especially the pieces used in traditional ceremonies. Therefore, I hope and always try to pass on my experience to the younger generation."
In Son La, there are many artisans who are dedicated to teaching various cultural forms to young people, becoming the "keepers of the flame" and "transmitters" of ethnic culture. For example, the distinguished artisan Ban Van Duc from Van Ho commune has, for over 10 years, taught classes to nearly 1,000 students on language, historical and cultural values, helping the Dao community access their traditional writing system. Similarly, the distinguished artisan Hoang Van Chiem from Quynh Nhai commune teaches young people the art of performing and crafting the Tinh lute. The distinguished artisan Tong Van Hoa from Chieng Coi ward teaches his children and grandchildren to play the Nhi lute...
