Son La province has donated nearly 300 gift packages, each worth between 500,000 and 800,000 VND, including rice, warm blankets, mattresses, and essential goods and necessities, to people in difficult circumstances.
On January 23rd, the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station (Son La Provincial Military Command) coordinated with the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Phieng commune to organize the program "Border Guard Spring, Warming the Hearts of the Local People."
The Organizing Committee presented nearly 300 gift packages, each worth between 500,000 and 800,000 VND, containing rice, warm blankets, mattresses, and essential goods and necessities, to people in difficult circumstances.
Mr. Mùa Lao Phà, from Pom Khốc village, Lóng Phiêng commune, shared that his family and the people were very happy to receive many gifts from border guards and sponsors. These gifts are extremely meaningful, helping the people have a warmer, more fulfilling, and more joyful Tet holiday.
In addition, the Organizing Committee awarded three gifts and scholarships to children who are adopted by the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Post, including one child from Xieng Kho district, Houaphan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.
Also at the program, officials and doctors from Cuoc Song General Hospital, Son La province, and Chieng Tuong Border Guard Post provided free health check-ups, dental care, and medication to nearly 500 people in Long Phieng commune and Xieng Kho district, Houaphan province (Laos).
In addition, activities such as free haircuts, free stalls, traditional games like throwing the "con" (a traditional game), tug-of-war, and rice cake pounding competitions attracted a large number of participants. These events not only created a joyful, lively, and enthusiastic atmosphere for the early days of spring but also contributed to preserving national cultural identity, strengthening community bonds, and reinforcing neighborly relations and the close relationship between the military and the people.
According to Vi Tuan Bao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Long Phieng commune, in recent years, officers and soldiers of the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command and Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station have not only guarded every inch of the sacred land of the Fatherland day and night, but have also always accompanied the people in socio-economic development, poverty reduction, new rural construction, and caring for the lives of people in border areas.

Through this program, Tet gifts are distributed to poor households and those with particularly difficult circumstances, helping people have better conditions to celebrate a more fulfilling and warm Tet holiday. The free stalls bring not only essential items but also the kindness and sincere care of the community.
Activities such as free medical examinations, health consultations, free medication distribution, and free haircuts demonstrate the spirit of "For the health of the people," caring for them even in the simplest things. Scholarships from the "Helping Children Go to School" program are a great source of encouragement, providing motivation for students in border areas to continue nurturing their dreams and confidently pursuing their education.
The program will help each household gain more motivation, each student gain more confidence in going to school, and each officer, soldier, and citizen become more united in building a peaceful, stable, developed, and compassionate border commune.
