On January 28th, comrades Hoang Van Nghiem, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, along with the provincial working group, assessed the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation and inspected the progress of several projects in the border communes of Muong Lan and Sop Cop.

During the visits, the unit leaders reported on the situation and results of their tasks in 2025; focusing on the implementation of operational measures and coordination with local Party committees, authorities, and functional forces of Laos in patrolling, controlling, and combating crime, ensuring border security and order. Along with the task of protecting border sovereignty, the units also actively participated in building the grassroots political system, supporting the people in economic development and poverty reduction, and effectively implementing social welfare programs in the area.

The delegation also assessed the construction progress of the Muong Lan Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project and the Sop Cop Primary and Secondary Boarding School Project. Each project covers an area of 4.9 hectares, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 1,000 students, including items such as classroom blocks, subject classrooms, a library, an administrative building, student and teacher dormitories, a canteen, a multi-purpose sports hall, and many auxiliary facilities. The project implementation process has received strong support from the government and the people; the conditions for project implementation are basically favorable and in accordance with standards and regulations. To date, the construction unit has carried out leveling, excavation, and concrete pouring for the subject classrooms, the administrative building, and the dormitory area; the progress is basically on schedule.
During the trip, the delegation also visited the Muong Va Tower historical site in Sop Cop commune; and inspected the progress of the investment project to build the technical infrastructure system in the central area of Sop Cop commune.

The Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the officers and soldiers of the Muong Lan Border Guard Post, the Nam Lanh Border Guard Post, and the 326th Economic-Defense Brigade; and requested that the units continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, enhance vigilance, proactively grasp the situation, maintain a firm grasp of the area, and ensure security and order in the border region; strengthen the prevention and control of all types of crimes, especially drug crimes and smuggling; and take care of the officers and soldiers who remain on duty during the Lunar New Year to ensure high combat readiness and that the people can enjoy a safe and peaceful New Year celebration.

Regarding the Mường Lạn and Sốp Cộp inter-level boarding school projects (primary and secondary levels), the Provincial Party Secretary requested that the construction units mobilize maximum machinery and personnel; coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to focus on resolving difficulties and accelerating construction progress; ensure the project achieves absolute quality and safety during implementation and completion on schedule, contributing to improving the quality of education for students in border areas, strengthening national defense and security, and promoting sustainable development in the border region.
