A delegation from Xaysomboun province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, extends New Year greetings to Son La province.

On behalf of the leaders of Son La province, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet welcomed the delegation from Xaysomboun province and informed them of some outstanding achievements of Son La province in 2025 in various fields. Accordingly, the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant prices in 2025 is projected to increase by 8.03%; state budget revenue in the province is expected to reach VND 5,600 billion; the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors will develop in a focused, sustainable direction, applying high technology and mechanization to production... Regarding cooperation between the two provinces, Son La province currently hosts 126 students from Xaysomboun province studying at training institutions in the province. The two provinces regularly exchange information on cooperation and organize delegations to exchange experiences in areas of mutual interest.

Leaders of Son La and Xaysomboun provinces exchanged information on the results achieved in 2025 and plans for future cooperation.

On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Thong Van Tham Ma Cong expressed gratitude for the thoughtful and respectful reception from the leaders of Son La province and congratulated Son La province on its achievements in various fields. He also highly appreciated the assistance provided by Son La province to Xay Som Bun province in the past. He hoped that Son La province would continue to pay attention to and cooperate with Xay Som Bun province in all fields, especially education, agriculture, and agricultural product processing; building an increasingly strong friendship and cooperation between the two provinces.

Thanking the delegation from Xaysomboun province for their visit and New Year greetings, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet expressed his hope that the two provinces would continue to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in all fields to maintain, consolidate, and further develop the relationship between Vietnam and Laos, and between Son La province and Xaysomboun province, making it increasingly practical and effective; to effectively implement the contents of the cooperation agreement between the two provinces; and to create conditions for units and localities to enhance the exchange and learning of experiences in various fields.
