In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, we followed border guards to the border communes of Son La province. The journey was long, with many winding and steep mountain roads, but the sincere and warm welcome from the ethnic people in the border region quickly dispelled our fatigue. Over the years, the "Spring Border Guard Program: Warming the Hearts of the People" has become a meaningful activity, contributing to nurturing and strengthening the bond between the military and the people in the border areas of the Fatherland every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around.

This year, as part of the program, participating units also organized free medical check-ups, health consultations, and medication distribution; opened "zero-cost" stalls and food stalls; offered free haircuts, made banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), and pounded banh day (another type of Vietnamese rice cake)... attracting a large number of people and creating a joyful and warm atmosphere. Mr. Trang Ly Po, from A La village, Long Sap commune, emotionally said: "Today, my family and the people in the commune are very happy and excited to receive many gifts from border guards and benefactors.
