In preparation for the 16th National Assembly elections and the elections for People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, Son La province has been focusing intensely on preparing and implementing tasks comprehensively in accordance with the law.
The Sơn La Provincial Supervisory Delegation worked and inspected the election preparation work in Gia Phù commune.
According to a report from the Son La Provincial Department of Internal Affairs, the province has completed the establishment of all election-related organizations at all levels ahead of schedule. One Provincial Election Committee, 75 commune/ward Election Committees, 468 Election Boards, and 1,580 Polling Stations have been established, ensuring compliance with the timeframe, structure, and composition as stipulated by the Election Law. The issuance of seals and the provision of operational resources for these election-related organizations have been implemented synchronously and promptly.
Along with streamlining the organizational structure.electorThe process of compiling and reviewing voter lists is being actively implemented by local authorities throughout the province. Based on data provided by the Provincial Police force, Son La province is expected to have approximately 957,319 voters, including 934,415 permanent residents and 22,904 temporary residents.

Son La province has directed relevant units to decorate the Northwest Square area with flags in preparation for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
Currently, the People's Committees of communes and wards are organizing the compilation and posting of voter lists according to the correct procedures, ensuring openness and transparency, and creating favorable conditions for people to exercise their rights and civic duties on election day.
Alongside the organization and registration of voters, Son La province is paying special attention to ensuring security and order during the election. The Son La Provincial Election Committee has issued a comprehensive plan on ensuring security, order, and social safety before, during, and after the election.

Currently, along with other forces, the Son La Provincial Police have proactively monitored the area, strengthening their efforts to gather public opinion, especially on issues related to candidate nominations, complaints, disputes, ethnic and religious matters, free migration, and key areas, mountainous regions, and border areas.
Recognizing that ensuring security and order during the election was a particularly important political task, the Long Phieng border commune police proactively developed a specific plan and assigned clear responsibilities to each officer and soldier. During the election period, the unit maintained 100% of its personnel on duty and on standby, intensified patrols to ensure the absolute security and safety of ballot boxes, election materials, and polling stations.

Major Lu Viet Anh, Head of the Long Phieng Commune Police, said: "The unit has strengthened its presence in the area, regularly going down to the grassroots level to thoroughly understand the situation, proactively preventing, detecting, and stopping potential complex security and order issues early and from afar. Along with that, we listen to and understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people, promptly resolving any incidents that arise at the grassroots level (if any), preventing the formation of hotspots."
Through the dissemination of legal information by forces involved in ensuring security and order, the awareness and compliance with the law among people in the communes and villages of Son La have been gradually improved. In particular, information regarding the election process has been widely disseminated to the people.
Ms. Lo Thi Sang, a resident of Huoi Long village, Chieng La commune, shared: "Through the awareness campaigns, people have a better understanding of the law and their civic responsibilities. We hope the upcoming election will be held safely so that people can confidently go to the polls and choose those who truly represent their opinions and aspirations."

Throughout the province, police forces at all levels have closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities in reviewing and managing residency; strictly managing individuals with criminal records and suspected individuals; and proactively detecting and promptly preventing acts of exploiting the election to disrupt public order, spread false information, incite unrest, and divide national unity.
To date, Son La province has not received any complaints or denunciations related to the election process or candidates, and the security and order situation in the area remains basically stable.
Simultaneously, preparations for election infrastructure have been implemented comprehensively. Local authorities have completed surveys and planned polling stations; prepared ballot boxes, voter and candidate lists; developed plans for fire prevention and control, traffic safety, and healthcare, and are ready to handle any unforeseen situations on election day.

The Fatherland Front Committee of Muong Bang commune held its second consultative meeting to discuss and finalize the preliminary list of candidates for the Muong Bang Commune People's Council, 22nd term, 2026-2031.
Comrade Ha Thi Kim Thu, Secretary of the Gia Phu Commune Party Committee, said: In preparing for the election of National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, the Gia Phu Commune Party Committee has led and directed the serious and timely implementation of directives from the Central Government, the province, and higher levels, ensuring uniformity in understanding and implementation throughout the commune.
In Gia Phu commune, election propaganda work was given attention and implemented through various appropriate forms, focusing on widely disseminating information about the purpose and significance of the election, the rights and obligations of citizens, thereby creating consensus and enhancing the responsibility of officials, Party members, and the people.
Further discussion with Comrade Ha Thi Kim Thu, Secretary of the Gia Phu Commune Party Committee, revealed that the Commune Party Committee has seriously led the implementation of the personnel work process, developing the personnel plan for the Gia Phu Commune People's Council, 12th term, 2026-2031, ensuring the correct structure and composition as prescribed. The commune has issued a Resolution designating 6 electoral units, establishing 28 polling stations, and identifying 28 voting areas to organize the election of 23 representatives to the Commune People's Council in accordance with regulations and the set schedule.

With proactive, systematic, and comprehensive preparation, and the synchronized involvement of the entire political system, Son La province is gradually creating a solid foundation for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term to take place safely, democratically, and in accordance with the law, truly becoming a festival for the entire population.
