On February 3rd, Mr. Ha Trung Chien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting on organizing the 2026 International Off-Road Car Race in Moc Chau. Attending the meeting were representatives from the Vietnam Automobile Sports Federation; leaders from several provincial departments, agencies, localities, and businesses.

Meeting to discuss organizing the 2026 International Off-Road Car Race in Moc Chau.
At the meeting, the leaders of the Vietnam Automobile Sports Federation presented and introduced the plan to organize the 2026 International Off-Road Car Race in Moc Chau. Stemming from the goal of organizing a professional, large-scale off-road car race linked to tourism promotion, the Vietnam Automobile Sports Federation developed the idea of holding the event in the Moc Chau plateau. After surveying the area, the organization has planned to select Moc Chau Island Tourist Area as the main location for the race and related organizational and logistical activities.
According to the plan, 20-30 racing teams from countries and territories around the world are expected to participate in the race; it will be held in mid-May 2026. The event will also include many side activities to promote the race and showcase the image of Moc Chau National Tourist Area.

The head of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism spoke at the meeting.
Based on the ideas and plans of the organizing unit, the delegates at the meeting discussed the conditions necessary to ensure the success of the race, such as: infrastructure, track design, organizational budget, logistics, security and order, fire prevention and rescue, medical services, media promotion, and side activities of the event…

Concluding the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the Vietnam Automobile Sports Federation's choice of Moc Chau plateau as the proposed location for the event, contributing to promoting Son La's tourism image. He also requested the Vietnam Automobile Sports Federation to develop a detailed plan and script; and urged relevant departments and agencies to coordinate closely with the organizing unit to finalize the details, especially regarding the budget, for submission to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.
