(Van Ho) From March 15-17, the 2024 Hoa Ban Festival will be held in Chieng Khoa commune, Van Ho district. This year's festival is organized on a district-wide scale to promote the "All people unite to build a cultured life" movement, associated with preserving and honoring the traditional cultural identity of ethnic groups in the area.

Accordingly, the ceremony at the Bang Muong Temple will be held on the morning of March 15th at the Bang Muong Temple Historical and Cultural Relic, Khoong village, Chieng Khoa commune, with rituals to invite the local deities, river gods, mountain gods, and Lady Ban to join in the festivities and bless the villagers with prosperity, happiness, and the successful organization of the festival. The opening ceremony will take place at 7:00 PM on March 15th at the Chieng Khoa commune stadium with a special artistic program and excerpts from the festival to help visitors and locals better understand the story of Lady Ban. Within the framework of the festival, many attractive activities will take place such as the Hoa Ban Beauty Contest; exhibitions showcasing traditional culture, tourism products, and local agriculture; exchanges and competitions in sports and folk games such as throwing the ball, archery, stick pushing, tug-of-war, cockfighting, men's volleyball; and a fishing competition. Preparing and displaying traditional feasts and showcasing the culinary culture of the highlands.
Currently, preparations for the festival are being carried out urgently by Van Ho district. The detailed script development, actor selection, and rehearsals for the artistic program are being expedited by the relevant agencies. Plans to ensure security, traffic safety, fire prevention, food safety, etc., are also being meticulously prepared.
The Hoa Ban Festival is one of the typical cultural activities maintained annually during the blooming season of the Hoa Ban flower. It contributes to promoting the image of the Hoa Ban flower and the Bang Muong Temple Festival, linking them with the potential and strengths of tourism development in the district to a large number of domestic and international tourists. It attracts investment resources, making tourism a key economic sector of the district, creating momentum for growth and economic restructuring in accordance with the objectives of the Resolution of the 2nd District Party Congress and the Action Program of the District Party Committee on tourism development in the period 2020 - 2025.
