(VTC News) - During the dry season, the Ta Xua grassland is covered in a golden hue stretching across the hillsides, becoming a popular tourist destination in the highlands of Son La during the winter.

Located approximately 200km from Hanoi, the Ta Xua grassland, in Ta Xua commune, Son La province, sits at an average altitude of 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The area boasts expansive, airy spaces, with continuous stretches of grasslands covering the hillsides, creating a characteristic landscape of the Northwest highlands.

In summer, the grasslands are covered in the vibrant green of young grass, offering a cool and pleasant feeling. However, from around December to February of the following year, when the weather turns to winter, the area enters the dry season.

Under the dry, sunny weather characteristic of the highlands, the grassy hills gradually turn yellow, covering the undulating mountain slopes.

This change in color creates a distinctive appearance for the Ta Xua grassland, attracting many tourists to visit and experience it.

Besides its impressive open landscapes, the Ta Xua grassland during the dry season is also a popular spot for photography enthusiasts.

According to the experience of many tourists, clothing in light colors such as white, beige, or pastel tones will help the subject stand out more against the natural scenery. Simple accessories like silk scarves or hats are also often used to add a touch of flair when taking photos.

Present at the grassland on a sunny morning, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City said: “Before coming, many people suggested I come here in the afternoon to photograph the sunset. However, the morning experience was also very worthwhile. The space was quiet, there were few people, and the early morning sun made the colors of the grass very clear, making it quite convenient for taking pictures.”

Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, a tourist from Hai Phong, shared: “The weather was pleasant in the morning, and there weren't too many tourists, so I could move around freely and choose my photo angles. In my opinion, if you have a sunny day, whether it's morning or afternoon, the grassland during the dry season has its own unique charm.”

Nestled amidst the grassy hills, a small café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, catering to the needs of visitors seeking a rest. Here, guests can enjoy a variety of hot and cold drinks at prices ranging from 40,000 to 60,000 VND. The café's ambiance is considered ideal for enjoying the view and escaping the cold winter winds.

Currently, the entrance fee to visit Ta Xua grassland is 35,000 VND per person. Along the same route, visitors can combine their trip with visits to other familiar destinations in Ta Xua such as Dolphin Point or the Lonely Tree.
