Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Agriculture and Environment, visited, encouraged, and extended New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of Chieng Son Border Guard Post.
At Chieng Son Border Guard Station, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Van Quang, the station commander, reported to the delegation on the situation regarding the management and responsibility of the border area and the work of taking care of the local people during Tet (Lunar New Year).
The Chieng Son Border Guard Station donated gifts to poor and near-poor households, families entitled to preferential policies, and students with a total value of over 900 million VND; mobilized social resources, and donated 200 gift packages to households and 200 gift packages to students and schools with a total value of over 250 million VND.

Minister Tran Duc Thang expressed his delight at the festive atmosphere at Chieng Son Border Guard Station and in the border area; he highly appreciated the efforts, sense of responsibility, and affection of the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard in coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to take care of the people during Tet.
The Minister of Agriculture and Environment requested the Chieng Son Border Guard Station to continue actively assisting the people in poverty reduction and economic development; to strengthen joint patrol coordination with functional forces on the Lao side, contributing to maintaining stability in the border area; and to prepare well for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; to strengthen monitoring of the local situation, and to mobilize the people to exercise their right to self-governance, so that election day truly becomes a festival for all the people.

Minister Tran Duc Thang also requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels in Son La province continue to pay more attention to social welfare and sustainable poverty reduction; focus on supporting livelihoods, creating jobs, and improving the quality of human resources, especially in ethnic minority areas and border regions; and combine economic development with strengthening national defense and security, maintaining border sovereignty.

After directly visiting the production area, experiencing the strawberry picking service, and listening to the difficulties and obstacles faced by the Bon Bon Agricultural and Service Cooperative, Minister Tran Duc Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Bon Bon Agricultural and Service Cooperative in boldly investing in agricultural development towards high technology and organic farming, linking production with experiential tourism services. He also requested Son La province to continue paying attention to and supporting the replication of effective agricultural production models suitable to local conditions.

The Minister instructed the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection to coordinate with local authorities to support cooperatives in promptly completing the necessary procedures to obtain planting area codes, thereby enabling cooperatives' products to participate more deeply in the safe agricultural supply chain.
