In line with the Party and State's policies, the banking sector has continuously strived to fulfill its political nhiệm vụ over the years, contributing to maintaining macroeconomic stability, supporting economic growth, and controlling inflation; actively mobilizing capital and providing funds to businesses and households to support production and business activities; and leading the way in applying science and technology, digital transformation, and developing products and services for businesses and people. As a result, many people in remote areas have been able to borrow capital and access banking products and services conveniently.
Furthermore, with a spirit of mutual support and compassion, the banking sector has a tradition of implementing social welfare programs and supporting the community, such as assisting the poor, women, children, and vulnerable groups. Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and floods, the banking sector implemented policies to waive or reduce interest and fees, providing support to businesses and individuals to overcome difficulties. Simultaneously, the banking sector has also been a pioneer in participating in the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing launched by the Prime Minister.
