Wild peach blossom branches and white plum blossom branches are being transported by locals to National Highway 6 in Moc Chau and Van Ho communes, Son La province, to be sold to people in the lowlands for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations.

As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, along both sides of National Highway 6 through Moc Chau and Van Ho communes in Son La province, branches of peach and white plum blossoms from the highlands can be seen being sold by locals. These branches of Northwest peach blossoms will then be transported by trucks to provinces in the lowlands, contributing to bringing the spring colors of the highlands to people across the country.

Peach blossom branches are sold by locals along National Highway 6 in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year).

According to observations by reporters from Construction Newspaper, peach and plum branches are being sold by locals at many points along the road, but the busiest and most crowded selling points currently are the entrance gate to the Van Ho Commune Administrative Center and the starting point of the Moc Chau Ward center in Son La province.

This year, branches of white plum blossoms are being sold in abundance at the flower markets of Van Ho commune.

The plum blossom branches on display attracted customers at the market.

Mr. Trang A Chu, from Long Luong commune, Van Ho district, said: "In the villages in this area, every household grows peach blossoms on their fields and in their home gardens. About a month before Tet, families will select peach branches with beautiful shapes and many buds that can bloom during Tet to display and sell."

Mr. Giàng A Thu (60 years old, a resident of Vân Hồ commune) said: "Here, people start setting up peach blossom branches on the roadside to sell about a month before the Lunar New Year. Every household has set up their own tents to make it easier to watch over and sell the peach blossoms." According to Mr. Lành, people sell peach blossoms day and night whenever there are customers. The customers are mainly from the lowlands. There are days when there are still customers at 2 or 3 in the morning.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bac (Hanoi) shared: "Before Tet, my family always visited relatives in Son La, and we often stopped to buy peach blossoms in Van Ho. This year, passing through here, I saw many beautiful peach blossom branches for sale, so I decided to buy some. Today I bought about 10 peach blossom branches to decorate my home for Tet, as well as for my family and colleagues," Mr. Bac said.

Mr. Dam Thanh Tung (25 years old, from Moc Chau commune) said: "Every year, as Tet approaches, my relatives and I go along the flower markets to find the most suitable peach blossom branch for our family. Besides that, I also frequently buy peach blossom branches to take to Hanoi as gifts."
