Promoting the vanguard role of youth in the task of protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security, youth unions in the province have organized many practical and meaningful activities towards the border to express gratitude for the contributions of the people and forces on duty to protect the Fatherland's borders.
Propaganda program about islands and land borders for youth and children at milestone 243, Chieng Tuong commune, Yen Chau district.
Recently, in Long Sap commune, Moc Chau district, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Border Guard Command to organize the program to launch "Youth Month, March Border Month". In which, they organized the inauguration of the project "Lighting up the border"; presented 15 maps "Proud of a strip of mountains and rivers" to Long Sap Border Guard Station and 14 villages of Long Sap commune; awarded 20 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances... At the same time, organized medical examination, consultation, and medicine distribution for 300 people and youth; planted trees along the border, with a total value of over 300 million VND.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee directed the Youth Unions to organize the program "March Border Month", promoting the spirit of "Youth volunteers for community life". Through the program, the Youth Union members will better understand the duties of officers and soldiers in protecting territorial sovereignty and border security and be aware of their responsibility in accompanying and contributing to protecting the country's borders; thereby becoming active propagandists, making efforts to participate in youth activities, projects, and tasks, supporting people and youth in border areas.
In Yen Chau district, the Chieng Tuong Commune Youth Union and the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station jointly organized the journey "I love my Fatherland", with the theme "Propaganda about the sea, islands, and land borders among youth and children" at landmark 243. Officers and soldiers of the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station, along with the Youth Union and students, repaired and cleared the landmark. The students were told stories about soldiers performing the task of protecting the border by officers and soldiers and experienced participating in border patrols.
Ms. Vi Phuong Thao, Secretary of the Chieng Tuong Commune Youth Union, shared: The journey "I love my Fatherland" aims to spread pride in the history and glorious revolutionary traditions of the nation to the younger generation. Therefore, the Commune Youth Union coordinated with the Chieng Tuong Border Guard Station to organize a flag-raising ceremony at the landmark, which is not only a sacred ceremony, but also has the meaning of educating patriotism and equipping young union members with legal knowledge.
Giang Thi Cam, a 5th grade student at Chieng Tuong Primary School, shared: Participating in the journey helped us better understand our duties and responsibilities in participating in protecting the country's borders.
Along with organizing many traditional education activities, experiencing border patrols, landmarks, and exchanges with border guards, the Youth Unions also promote propaganda, dissemination, and education of laws and border sovereignty protection to young people on social networking sites and Fanpages managed by the Youth Unions at all levels. Thereby, attracting many interactions, approaches, and shares from cadres, Youth Union members, and young people.
With many forms and rich content, propaganda activities on border sovereignty protection have contributed to educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride, raising awareness, understanding, and sense of responsibility of the young generation towards the homeland border; encouraging and motivating young people to actively participate in volunteer activities for the community, socio-economic development, associated with protecting national border sovereignty.
