As the last rays of winter's golden sunlight begin to give way to the mist that blankets the peaks of Pha Luong, the land and sky of Son La awaken to welcome the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026. Along National Highway 6, winding through mountain passes like soft silk ribbons draped across the sky, apricot and plum blossoms have bloomed, blanketing the border region in white. But amidst this dreamy natural landscape, another light is also silently "blooming," seeping into every stilt house, warming the most remote villages. This is the light from Son La Power Company (Son La Power), working tirelessly day and night to weave a warm and prosperous spring in the highlands of Northwest Vietnam.

For the electricians of Son La Power Company, spring not only comes from the changing seasons but also from the culmination of extraordinary labor achievements in the turbulent year of 2025. Looking back on the journey, electricity has truly become the main "lifeline," pumping vibrant energy into the socio-economic development of the province. In the context of a rapidly recovering economy, the demand for energy has become more urgent than ever. Responding to this practical need, Son La Power Company has operated the power grid system with strategic thinking and the highest sense of responsibility. The province's maximum power output (Pmax) reached 271.68 MW, an 8.37% increase compared to the same period last year, while the minimum power output (Pmin) also achieved an impressive 10.79%. These technical figures, when placed in the context of reality, are vivid evidence of the bustling activity of factories and enterprises and the increasingly prosperous lives of the people. In particular, the highest daily electricity output reached 3.2 million kWh, exceeding the 2024 figure by more than 10%, demonstrating the significantly larger scale of consumption and the stronger absorption capacity of the local economy.
To keep the power supply running smoothly amidst the vast, rugged mountains, the workers in orange uniforms have faced countless challenges. However, with their courage and intelligence, the staff of Son La Power Company have turned seemingly impossible feats into reality. In 2025, incidents on the 110kV power grid were significantly reduced, with only 4 cases. All indicators of power supply reliability met and exceeded targets, with the average power outage duration (SAIDI) controlled at 1,558.44 minutes, while the average number of power outages (SAIFI) stopped at only 12.57 times, equivalent to 70.6% of the allowable target. Behind these impressive technical indicators lies the sweat of workers toiling in the rain and floods, traversing forests and streams to resolve incidents. Last year, natural disasters caused considerable damage, but with the spirit of "responding faster than storms and floods," the company carried out eight rounds of recovery efforts, quickly restoring electricity and rekindling people's faith.
Not only courageous, Son La Power Company also affirms its position through intelligence and technology. The image of electricians dangling from wires to repair the hotline is no longer unfamiliar. With 560 direct connection repair sessions, achieving 224.4% of the assigned plan, the company's production activities have not been disrupted and the lives of the people have not been interrupted. Simultaneously, digital transformation has been accelerated, turning Son La Power Company into a truly digital enterprise in the mountainous region. Telecommunications and information technology infrastructure is absolutely secure; all data, from business to technical and financial, has been standardized in the digital environment… Despite the limitations of local habits in the highlands, the percentage of customers paying electricity bills without using cash has reached over 80%.

However, the most striking and profoundly humane aspect of the overall picture of Son La's electricity development over the past year has been the journey of bringing electricity to villages. To date, 100% of communes and wards in the province have access to the national power grid. Electricity has reached 2,232 villages, bringing joy to 99.5% of households throughout the province. With electricity, televisions fill the air with voices and laughter, refrigerators keep food fresh, and most importantly, bright lights illuminate study desks, helping children nurture their dreams of learning. Electric light has dispelled the darkness of poverty and backwardness, contributing to a spectacular transformation of the rural landscape.
To fuel these achievements, the company's investment, construction, and financial management are also noteworthy highlights. In 2025, Son La Power Corporation commenced construction on 34 projects and successfully commissioned 42 power grid projects, achieving a 100% disbursement rate for construction investment capital. In addition, revenue from electricity services also recorded exceptional growth, far exceeding the annual plan. Notably, the bidding process was conducted transparently, saving the state budget 6.67%. All efforts are aimed at optimizing costs and harmonizing the interests of the State, the enterprise, and the people.
The year 2026 brings new opportunities and challenges. With the mindset of a pioneer, Son La Power Corporation has already planned an ambitious development roadmap. The goal is to surpass 1 billion kWh of commercial electricity production. At the same time, the company is determined to further improve the reliability of electricity supply, striving to reduce the average power outage time to the lowest possible level and continuing to strongly apply science and technology to production and business. But above all, the immediate priority is to ensure a safe and stable electricity supply so that people can enjoy the Lunar New Year. In the bustling atmosphere of the days leading up to the Year of the Horse, besides strengthening the power grid, the unit still pays special attention to caring for the lives of its employees, ensuring that each employee has a warm and fulfilling New Year.
The spring in Northwest Vietnam is breathtakingly beautiful with the pink of peach blossoms and the white of bauhinia flowers, but it becomes even more radiant when illuminated by millions of twinkling electric lights emanating from the villages. This electricity is no longer just a simple physical energy source, but has transformed into a harmonious flow of "the people's will and the Party's ideology." The electricians of Son La, with their passionate hearts and cool heads, are silently weaving endless springs, keeping their promise to illuminate the faith in this border region of the Fatherland. They are the messengers bringing spring, so that the light of civilization will forever shine brightly on the heroic land of Son La.
