Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Kham Pheng Xay Som Pheng, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Governor of Hua Phan province; leaders of departments, branches and sectors of Hua Phan province.

Son La province has comrades: Nguyen Huu Dong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Trang Thi Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Son La - Hua Phan Cultural Tourism Festival 2024; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of departments and branches.

Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, along with a large number of people from Sam Neua town and Hua Phan province.

Delivering a welcome speech at this special event, Comrade Khampeng Xay Somsompheng expressed his delight at welcoming the leaders of Son La province, the organizing committee of the "Son La - Huaphanh Tourism and Culture Festival" in 2024, as well as artists and artisans from Son La province to Hua Phan. This is an opportunity for officials and people of all ethnic groups in the two provinces to exchange and learn from each other in various fields, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Son La and Huaphanh in particular, forever.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Huu Dong affirmed: The festival is one of the important activities to effectively implement foreign affairs activities in 2024; is a practical activity demonstrating the diplomatic relations, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and Son La - Hua Phan in particular. It is an opportunity to connect and promote the development of tourism between Son La - Hua Phan with provinces and cities nationwide and internationally; together share and accompany each other to develop unique and attractive tourism products, create jobs, increase income for people in the two provinces, especially ethnic minority areas and border areas; promote exchange and cooperation in the process of international integration.

The highlight of the opening night was the Art Program with the theme "Son La - Hua Phan Love Song", performed by a group of artists and actors from Son La and Hua Phan provinces. The art program included special performances, elaborately staged, praising the revolutionary tradition, the tradition of friendship, and the loyal attachment between the two provinces of Son La and Hua Phan in particular, and Vietnam and Laos in general, in building and protecting the homeland and country. At the same time, it praised the unique and distinctive traditions and cultural identities of the ethnic groups of the two provinces, highlighting the similarities and cultural and artistic exchanges; praising the beauty of the soul, love for people, homeland and country; the beautiful natural scenery, appearance, and images of innovation and development of the two provinces and two countries.

The art program ended with a solidarity dance and a solidarity dance performed by delegates, people and tourists, expressing the close, lasting and everlasting affection between the two provinces of Son La - Hua Phan, and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

The Son La - Hua Phan Cultural Tourism Festival 2024 took place from March 21 to 23 in Hua Phan province, with many unique tourism and cultural activities, such as: Exhibition of beautiful photos about the land, people, tourism potential, tourism products, cultural identity and special friendship between Vietnam - Laos, Son La - Hua Phan; display and introduction of tourism products, culture, local products of the two provinces of Son La - Hua Phan; survey of tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism service establishments, forming Son La - Hua Phan Tour; Conference on linking tourism development in Son La - Hua Phan; Talks between high-ranking delegations of the two provinces of Son La - Hua Phan, signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation for the period 2024-2026 between the two provinces.
