Meeting to exchange experiences in trade union work.

Attending the talks were Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La province; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of the Son La Provincial Labor Union; and the delegation from the Federation of Trade Unions of 4 provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

In an atmosphere of warm solidarity and special friendship, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor and the Federation of Trade Unions of the neighboring provinces of Laos exchanged information on the socio-economic development, national defense and security situation; and the results of trade union activities and the workers' and employees' movements in each province.

Delegates from the trade union federations of four provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic attended the talks.

In his opening remarks at the meeting, the leader of the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor Unions emphasized that strengthening exchanges, sharing experiences, and providing mutual support in trade union activities is an important task, contributing to consolidating solidarity and friendship between the trade union organizations of the two countries. Over the years, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor Unions has consistently maintained effective coordination with the Federation of Trade Unions of the Northern Lao provinces; at the same time, it has closely coordinated with the Border Guard forces to propagate and mobilize union members and the people to strictly abide by regulations on border management and protection, working together to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developing border.

Representatives from the Lao Provincial Federation of Trade Unions expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome from Son La province and hoped that the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor would continue to support the training and professional development of full-time trade union officials; share experiences in building database systems and digital transformation; and promote exchange activities in various forms to further strengthen the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two nations.

During the talks, the Son La Provincial Federation of Labor and the Federations of Trade Unions of Hua Phan, Luang Prabang, Oudomxay, and Luang Namtha provinces signed a memorandum of understanding agreeing on the contents of further strengthening cooperative relations; regularly exchanging information and sharing experiences in trade union organization and activities, especially methods suitable to the requirements of trade union activities in the new situation.

Continue to maintain the rotation of delegations visiting, exchanging experiences, and engaging in exchanges when authorized by competent authorities and in accordance with the practical conditions of both sides. Simultaneously, coordinate the implementation of practical exchange activities to strengthen solidarity and the special friendship between the two countries.
