The Xuan Nha Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Xuan Nha Boarding School) has basically completed its buildings, but some infrastructure items are still under construction. Son La province is urging relevant units to overcome difficulties caused by unfavorable weather conditions and strive to put the school into use as soon as possible.

Xuan Nha Primary and Secondary Boarding School is built on an area of approximately 6.7 hectares, comprising 13 buildings and auxiliary facilities. The project includes 6 classroom blocks with 30 theoretical classrooms, 16 subject-specific classrooms, along with a boarding system, dining hall, kitchen, restrooms, schoolyard, internal roads, and technical infrastructure.
The facilities are comprehensively invested in, meeting the learning, living, and care needs of more than 1,000 students, the majority of whom are children of ethnic minorities. Right from the start of the project, Son La province directed relevant units to coordinate with local authorities to complete compensation, land clearance, and hand over a clean site to the contractor for construction.
According to Mr. Giàng A Ký, Chairman of the Xuân Nha Commune People's Committee: the Xuân Nha Primary and Secondary Boarding School project has a total investment of approximately 270 billion VND, and is currently about 87% to 90% complete; the school has not yet been inaugurated. The project currently has no outstanding issues regarding land clearance or materials.

The reason for the delay in the inauguration is attributed to difficulties caused by weather conditions, which hampered construction and prevented it from progressing as planned. To overcome this, the provincial People's Committee leadership has issued decisive directives, inspected and urged the contractor to overcome the difficulties and find solutions.
According to Mr. Ky, the buildings and basic construction have been completed, and teaching and learning equipment and materials are ready. However, due to heavy rain, infrastructure construction is difficult, so students cannot yet be admitted. Currently, students are still studying and living at the old school locations.
Mr. Vu Hong Truong, Principal of Xuan Nha Primary and Secondary Boarding School, said: Currently, the school has 53 teachers and staff, 2 security guards, and 1,023 primary and secondary school students. Of these, 1,017 students are eligible for government assistance. Currently, students are studying and living at 11 different school locations throughout the commune.

According to Mr. Vu Hong Truong, these schools are all located far away, with the furthest being 33km away, and their facilities lack adequate accommodation, meals, and teaching equipment for students.
For example, the most remote school, Sa Lai, has only 4 boarding students who have to study together with students from Xuan Nha Primary School; the Cot Moc school has 68 students but has to organize 3 separate classes; the Bun Lay school has 21 students but they are scattered among primary school students, so they cannot be combined into one class and have to study together with primary school students… Even more difficult is organizing meals for the students, which must be done at 4 different cooking locations and then transported to the schools where the students study.
Mr. Vu Hong Truong expressed his hope that the Xuan Nha Primary and Secondary Boarding School project would be expedited so that students and teachers would have a new environment that ensures comfort for teaching, learning, and boarding life. This would lead to improved professional quality, maintained student enrollment, and better living conditions for both teachers and students.
