The Son La Tourism Gift Contest 2026 was launched in May 2026 with the goal of finding and selecting distinctive gift products that reflect the cultural identity of Son La's ethnic groups, contributing to building a gift system to serve tourism development and promote the local image.
By June 25, 2026, the Organizing Committee had received 72 entries, comprising 151 product samples in various fields such as handicrafts, souvenirs, creative products, and tourism-related products. Many products showed meticulous investment in ideas, designs, and materials, effectively exploiting traditional cultural values, natural landscapes, distinctive products, and the identity of the ethnic groups of Son La, making them suitable as souvenirs and meeting the requirements of tourism development and market demands.

At the meeting, members of the Organizing Committee and the Judging Panel discussed and agreed on the regulations, criteria, scoring scale, and scoring method in accordance with the competition rules, ensuring objectivity, openness, and transparency. Immediately afterward, the Judging Panel proceeded to score the products based on criteria related to cultural value, creativity, aesthetics, applicability, and commercialization potential. The scoring process was conducted rigorously, selecting outstanding products with high recognition potential that are suitable to become characteristic tourism gifts of the province.

As a result, the judging panel selected outstanding products to be submitted to the competition organizers for consideration and recognition, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes. These products met the competition criteria well, have the potential for production, and contribute to diversifying tourism products and promoting the image, culture, and people of Son La to domestic and international tourists.
According to the plan, the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the Son La Tourism Gift Contest 2026 will be held on July 9th.
