On the afternoon of July 8th, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting on the progress of detailed planning and investment proposals for the construction of the Chieng Khuong main border gate. Attending the meeting were leaders from several departments and agencies, the Provincial Border Guard Command, Son La Customs, and the People's Committee of Chieng Khuong commune.

During the meeting, the units reported on the detailed planning scheme for the Chieng Khuong main border gate, covering approximately 19.32 hectares. The plan outlines the integrated development of various components, including: the national gate and joint control station; the administrative area and headquarters of functional forces; the service and commercial area; the bonded warehouse; the import/export vehicle parking system; green parks; and technical infrastructure. The plan aims to gradually meet the criteria of a main border gate, creating a foundation for its development into an international border gate, promoting trade, logistics services, and economic development in the border region.
Mr. Tang Van Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Chieng Khuong commune, spoke at the meeting.
The delegates also discussed the progress in finalizing the planning documents, the list of investment items in the border area; land clearance, resettlement arrangements, auctioning of land mines for leveling purposes, and investment plans for technical infrastructure projects.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Dang Ngoc Hau requested the Provincial Border Guard Command to urgently complete the procedures for selecting a consulting unit to prepare the detailed plan; coordinate in building a list of investment items, finalize the contents to be submitted to competent authorities, and strive for the plan's approval before August 5th. At the same time, he assigned relevant departments and agencies to coordinate and support the completion of investment procedures, plan adjustments, land auction, and preparation of investment plans for the weighing station and infrastructure projects. The People's Committee of Chieng Khuong commune was instructed to focus on managing the current situation, carrying out land clearance, planning a new cemetery, preparing the resettlement area, and ensuring the conditions for the projects to be implemented on schedule.
