The nationwide movement to protect national security in Van Ho is increasingly spreading and becoming a shared responsibility of the entire political system and every citizen. In the first six months of 2026, the commune police received 10 reports of crimes, resolved 6 of them; organized the detection and arrest of 19 cases involving 24 offenders, including 17 cases involving 22 offenders related to drug offenses, and initiated investigations into 17 cases involving 22 offenders. The role of village elders, heads of hamlets, and influential people in the community continues to be promoted, becoming a bridge between the Party committee, the government, and the people. Through propaganda and mobilization efforts, people are increasingly raising their awareness of law compliance, actively participating in preventing and combating violations, contributing to building a solid people's security posture at the grassroots level. The commune maintains two self-governing models for security and order, operating effectively in the hamlets and sub-districts. The role of the people has been effectively promoted in preventing, detecting, and reporting crimes, as well as mediating conflicts arising at the grassroots level; contributing to limiting complex incidents and maintaining security, order, and peace in each residential area.
General Secretary and President To Lam delivered a speech at the festival.
Delivering a keynote address at the event, General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated, commended, and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government, and people of Son La province in general, and Van Ho commune in particular, for their perseverance, efforts, and perseverance in overcoming many difficulties and challenges, achieving commendable and proud results, and making important contributions to the overall achievements in building the nationwide movement for national security protection.
At the same time, it is suggested that Party committees, governments, and political and social organizations at all levels should continue to thoroughly understand and effectively implement the policies on building the nationwide movement to protect national security, linking it with patriotic emulation movements, creating a positive and widespread ripple effect in people's lives, and truly becoming a vibrant and widespread revolutionary movement. Maintain and organize the National Day for Protecting National Security in a systematic, practical, and effective manner; develop and improve the quality of self-governance, self-prevention, self-protection, and self-mediation forms from families to communities, in agencies, businesses, and educational institutions. Pay attention to identifying, nurturing, and promptly commending and replicating good examples, good deeds, and advanced models in the work of building the nationwide movement to protect national security, contributing to protecting and building a strong and prosperous country in the new era of development.
For Van Ho commune, it is necessary to continue building upon the achievements already made and strive to become a model commune in security and order of the province, so that other communes and wards can learn from and exchange experiences, ensuring that all citizens live in a secure, safe, civilized, modern, orderly, green, clean, and beautiful environment. The goal is to become a "commune free of drugs, crime, and social vices."
Given the demands and tasks in the new context, the People's Public Security force in general, and the Public Security forces at all levels in Son La province in particular, need to continue to do a good job of gathering intelligence and closely managing the activities of criminal and drug-related offenders, preventing the emergence of hotspots and complex security and order issues. Attention should be paid to building a grassroots Public Security force with good political qualities, strong professional skills, and legal knowledge, upholding a high sense of responsibility, dedication, closeness to the people, understanding the people, and the ability to advise local Party committees and authorities on directing and effectively implementing the movement and the National Day for Protecting National Security.
