On August 25th, in Chieng Khuong commune, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province welcomed and held a working meeting with the delegation from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the occasion of their visit to congratulate Vietnam on the 81st anniversary of its National Day (September 2nd, 1945 - September 2nd, 2026).

The delegation from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hua Phan province was led by Comrade Sengsuvan Vongkham, Provincial Party Committee member, National Assembly representative for Region 8, and Director of the Department. Welcoming and working with the delegation were Comrade Hoang Thi Doi, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province, along with representatives from the leadership of various departments and specialized units of the Department.

During the meeting, the leaders of the two departments exchanged information on their cooperation over the past period. Both sides highly appreciated the effectiveness of cultural and artistic exchanges, sports activities, and people-to-people diplomacy in the border region. To further enhance cooperation, the two units discussed and agreed on key directions for the future: focusing on promoting scenic spots, cultural heritage, and unique tourism products; researching the formation of cross-border tourism tours and routes through the Chieng Khuong Border Gate; and increasing the rotation of art performances and sports competitions in border villages. At the same time, both sides agreed to create the best possible conditions for the people, especially the younger generation, to enhance exchanges, learn about history, and further deepen the great friendship and special solidarity between Son La and Hua Phan provinces.

On this occasion, the delegation from the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hua Phan province presented commemorative gifts and extended best wishes on the occasion of Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd to the officials and staff of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province. They also expressed their deep gratitude for the sincere and loyal assistance that the Party, State, and people of Vietnam have given to the Lao people throughout the years.
