Reporting at the conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said: In 2023, economic diplomacy will continue to be promoted on the basis of implementing Directive No. 15 dated August 10, 2022 of the Secretariat on economic diplomacy to serve national development until 2030. Economic cooperation, market expansion and attracting quality investment capital are the key contents in foreign affairs activities, especially high-level foreign affairs. In addition to taking advantage of signed free trade agreements, Vietnam has proactively and actively participated in new economic linkages, promoting cooperation with many potential partners.
In 2024, economic diplomacy will focus on three key groups of tasks: consolidating traditional growth drivers and effectively exploiting new growth drivers; enhancing efficiency and innovation in research, consulting, and forecasting; improving the effectiveness of economic diplomacy and the coordinating role of the Economic Diplomacy Steering Committee.
At the conference, heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and delegates presented important speeches, sharing new trends in investment, trade, innovation, the potential of the semiconductor industry, new regulatory standards in traditional markets; opportunities and challenges in newly explored markets; enhancing the effectiveness of coordination in implementing economic diplomacy, expanding export markets and building brands for Vietnamese goods; information on requirements for attracting foreign investment in the new situation./.
