On April 4th, a delegation from the Departments of Agriculture and Forestry of the provinces of Hua Phan, Luang Namtha, and Luang Prabang, Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Mr. Chay Phet Huong Tha Von, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Hua Phan province, visited several exemplary economic models in the agricultural sector in Son La province.

Delegates listened to a presentation on the circular agriculture model at Son La Agricultural Cooperative.
The delegation visited a model of cattle farming combined with earthworm farming and earthworm fertilizer production at Son La Agricultural Cooperative, Chieng Mung commune, Mai Son district; a pomelo cultivation model at Ngoc Lan Cooperative, Hat Lot commune, Mai Son district; an organic strawberry cultivation model of Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan's family, Co Noi commune, Mai Son district; and a black grape cultivation model of Duy Khanh Trading Joint Stock Company, Chieng Ngan commune, City.

Son La Agricultural Cooperative introduces a method of ensiling animal feed and treating livestock waste in combination with earthworm farming.
At these model farms, representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with businesses, cooperatives, and households, introduced the technical production processes, the economic benefits of the models, and plans and solutions for agricultural product output. They also shared experiences in developing these models, assessing soil and climate conditions suitable for each crop type, and more.

Delegates visited the Mai Son Green Farm, a model farm for organic strawberry cultivation.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Chay Phet Huong Tha Von, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Hua Phan province, congratulated Son La province on the achievements of its agricultural sector in developing economic models. He also expressed his hope that in the future, Son La province will continue to cooperate, share experiences, and support the development of effective economic models, contributing to preserving and fostering the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in general, and between Son La province and Hua Phan, Luang Namtha, and Luang Prabang provinces in particular.
