The hill of rhododendron flowers is about 3 km from National Highway 6, turning onto the old National Highway 6 from the Hua Tat intersection in Van Ho commune. The owner has planted myrtle flowers all over the hillside. The hill is ablaze with purple myrtle blossoms, surrounded by rice fields and enveloped by rolling mountains, creating a uniquely romantic atmosphere.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang, the owner of the sim flower hill, said: "Previously, this area was an abandoned, barren hill, but the location is suitable for cloud watching, so I had the idea to plant a flower hill to create a beautiful view for tourists. After researching, I found that sim plants are easy to grow; with sufficient watering, they grow quickly and produce beautiful flowers that bloom for a long time, so I chose to plant sim flowers. The hybrid sim variety was provided by a friend at the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and it blooms year-round. The sim flower hill covers more than 5,000 square meters and flowers after 3 years of planting. The hybrid sim flowers are large, with vibrant purple petals, 5 petals, white stamens, and grow in clusters. The most beautiful time to bloom is from March to May and from July to September."

Currently, it's the ideal time for flower lovers to come and admire the flowers and take photos. The entrance fee to visit and take photos at the sim flower hill is 30,000 VND per person. The busiest time is on weekends, with 200-300 visitors per day.

When I return to Hanoi, I will recommend the beautiful sim flower hill in Van Ho to my friends so they can visit and experience it."

From a barren hill, Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang transformed it into a dreamy hill of purple rhododendron flowers, creating a new tourist attraction and a check-in spot for visitors along the route through the gateway of Son La province. At the rhododendron hill, visitors can not only admire and photograph the vibrant purple flowers, but also enjoy cloud watching in the morning and immerse themselves in the romantic sunset in the evening.
