On April 25th, Mr. Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to gather feedback on the proposal to recognize Moc Chau town, Son La province, as meeting the criteria for a type IV urban area. Leaders from provincial departments and agencies, as well as Moc Chau district, attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on providing feedback on the proposal to recognize Moc Chau as a Type IV urban area.
During the meeting, the leaders of Moc Chau district reported on the results of the project proposing the recognition of Moc Chau town, Son La province, as a type IV urban area. Accordingly, in implementing Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU dated May 13, 2021, of the Provincial Party Committee on building and developing Moc Chau district into a town by 2025, the People's Committee of Moc Chau district has organized the preparation and submission for approval of plans, programs, and projects, including: the General Urban Plan of Moc Chau until 2040; the Moc Chau Urban Development Program until 2030; and the project proposing the recognition of Moc Chau town as a type IV urban area (covering the entire administrative boundary of Moc Chau district). Compared with the criteria for a type IV urban area as stipulated, Moc Chau town has so far achieved 89.08/100 points, meeting 5/5 criteria and 61/63 standards, with 2 standards yet to be met.

The Department of Construction has reported the results of the appraisal of the proposal to recognize Moc Chau as a type IV urban area, encompassing the entire administrative boundaries of Moc Chau district; the difficulties and obstacles encountered; and proposed recommendations.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Le Hong Minh requested the Moc Chau District People's Committee to incorporate the feedback from relevant departments and agencies; continue to focus on and improve the criteria that have not yet been met; and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies, and consulting units to revise and finalize the Project Proposal for submission to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval by competent authorities as prescribed.
