On April 25, Mr. Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to give opinions on the Project to propose recognizing Moc Chau urban area, Son La province as meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area. Attending the meeting were leaders of departments, branches of the province and Moc Chau district.

At the meeting, the leaders of Moc Chau district reported the results of the project to propose recognition of Moc Chau urban area, Son La province, meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area. Accordingly, implementing Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU dated May 13, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on building and developing Moc Chau district into a town by 2025, the People's Committee of Moc Chau district has organized the development and submission for approval of plans, programs and projects, including: Moc Chau urban master plan to 2040; Moc Chau urban development program to 2030; Project to propose recognition of Moc Chau urban area, meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area (covering the entire administrative boundary of Moc Chau district). Compared with the criteria of a type IV urban area according to regulations, up to now, Moc Chau urban area has achieved 89.08/100 points, meeting 5/5 criteria and 61/63 standards, with 2 standards not yet met.
Moc Chau district leaders reported the results of the project.
The Department of Construction reported the appraisal results of the Project proposing to recognize Moc Chau urban area as a type IV urban area with the scope of the entire administrative boundary of Moc Chau district; difficulties, obstacles and recommendations.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Hong Minh requested the People's Committee of Moc Chau district to receive comments from departments and branches; continue to pay attention to and complete the criteria that have not been met; coordinate with departments, branches, and consulting units to edit and complete the Project to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and submit to competent authorities for consideration and approval according to regulations.
