(sonla.gov.vn) On April 26, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting with the World Bank survey team. Attending the meeting were representatives from the provincial departments and agencies; and representatives from the People's Committees of Son La City and Moc Chau District.
The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with the World Bank survey team.
During the meeting, the World Bank (WB) survey team presented preliminary findings from their recent survey in Moc Chau district and Son La city regarding technical assistance for Son La province to enhance climate change adaptation and improve inclusive livelihoods. They also proposed several development mechanisms and policies for Son La province to address current challenges and specific solutions to promote economic growth and inclusive development, and upgrade agricultural and tourism economic ecosystems. Further technical surveys were conducted to finalize a preliminary list of potential investments, aiming to transform the development model to improve livelihoods, increase income, and enhance the quality of life for the people, based on the rational, efficient, and responsible exploitation and use of local and regional advantages, along with the application of science and technology and innovation. Mobilizing sufficient public investment capital to expand and upgrade essential infrastructure projects will significantly improve connectivity between the city center and tourist destinations, enhance the quality of public spaces, and strengthen Son La's resilience to climate change.
The World Bank (WB) survey team reported preliminary results of their recent survey in Moc Chau district and Son La city.
Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong emphasized: Son La province is also interested in the implementation of the flood drainage system; and in developing a circular economy, sustainable agriculture, and tourism. Son La province will consider the recommendations of the survey team. Regarding the special mechanisms in Son La province, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the provincial departments and agencies, along with the survey team, to review and agree on each specific task in the implementation process and report to the Provincial Party Standing Committee for consideration and decision.
