Over two days (October 24th and 25th), a liaison meeting was held in Sop Cop district between Sop Cop district and Muong Son and Muong Et districts of Hua Phan province, and Phon Thong district of Luang Prabang province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The cooperative relationship between Sop Cop district and Muong Son, Muong Et, and Phon Thong districts has always been strengthened and developed. From 2020 to the present, the functional forces of Sop Cop district have coordinated 11 bilateral patrols with Muong Et district, with 268 officers and soldiers participating; coordinated 5 bilateral patrols with Muong Son district, with 120 officers and soldiers participating; and coordinated 6 bilateral patrols with Phon Thong district, with 165 officers and soldiers participating.
The Mường Lạn and Nậm Lạnh Border Guard Stations in Sốp Cộp district, in coordination with border control forces from Mường Ét and Mường Son districts, inspected 515 people and 106 vehicles exiting the country and 647 people and 103 vehicles entering the country. They also apprehended one individual, a citizen from Mường Xừm cluster, Mường Ét district, Hủa Phăn province, for the illegal trafficking of narcotics.
In addition, Sop Cop district and neighboring districts have coordinated and effectively implemented COVID-19 prevention and control measures in their respective districts and border areas. Sop Cop district has provided each neighboring district with 50 million VND to purchase thermometers, hand sanitizer, and medical masks; and to provide medical examination and treatment for 19 patients from neighboring districts.

Leaders of Sop Cop district signed a memorandum of understanding with districts in neighboring Laos.
In an atmosphere of warm solidarity, the leaders of Sop Cop district and neighboring districts agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for 2023 with the following content: Continuing to promote propaganda and education for the people in the border area regarding the Agreement on the Management Regulations of the Vietnam-Laos National Border and Border Gate; the Protocol on the Vietnam-Laos Border Line and Border Markers; the policies and guidelines of the Party and the laws of the two States on border affairs; regularly exchanging information, strengthening coordination in patrolling and protecting the border and border markers; preventing and promptly handling any incidents that may occur, and building a peaceful and friendly border. Encouraging the exchange of goods, creating conditions for people and officials from the districts to receive medical examination and treatment at the commune health stations in the border area and the Sop Cop District General Hospital...
