The Na Ka plum valley in Pa Khen sub-district, Moc Chau town, offers a unique beauty and charm for tourists in every season. While January and February are filled with the pristine white blossoms of plum trees, May sees the orchards laden with clusters of ripe, bright red plums nestled among the lush green leaves.
The Na Ka plum valley has been chosen by Moc Chau district as the location for the annual Fruit Picking Festival, attracting a large number of tourists from all over the country. This year, the festival is being held to coincide with the announcement ceremony recognizing Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area, promising visitors exciting experiences in a festive atmosphere on the beautiful plateau.

Na Ka Plum Valley is considered the "capital" of late-season plums in Moc Chau, covering an area of over 100 hectares with plum trees planted close together. The harvest season for late-season plums is from late April to June each year. Each cluster of plump, round plums is captivating to visitors.

Present at the Na Ka plum valley, Ms. Vu Thi Hanh, a tourist from Phu Tho province, excitedly shared: "This is my first time visiting such a vast plum valley, and I feel very thrilled. The plum trees are laden with ripe, juicy fruit still covered in bloom, which is very eye-catching."

For an entrance fee of 30,000 - 40,000 VND per person, visitors can tour the orchard, experience life as a farmer, carrying a basket on their backs, picking ripe plums, and enjoying them right there. In early May, the orchard attracts a large number of visitors from all over.
Ms. Pham Thi Huyen Nhu, a tourist from Hai Phong city, excitedly said: "I've known about Moc Chau plums for a long time, so today my whole family came here to visit, pick plums in the orchard, and had a wonderful experience. The taste of the plums in Na Ka valley is delicious. We also took many beautiful photos in the plum orchard and picked many plums to take home as gifts for friends and relatives."

Moc Chau is currently the largest plum-growing district in the country, with a total area of over 3,200 hectares, of which approximately 2,400 hectares are currently producing fruit. Besides Na Ka Valley, visitors can also visit other locations such as Pa Phach Village, Pa Khen Village, the agricultural area, the road to Ban On Five Caves, or Mu Nau plum valley... to enjoy delicious fruit right in the orchards, take photos, and personally select plums to take home as souvenirs after their trip.

On this occasion, Son La province will organize the ceremony to announce the decision recognizing Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area, featuring many cultural activities rich in ethnic identity. The event, taking place from May 17th to 19th, promises to offer visitors wonderful experiences, such as: cultural space exhibitions, introduction of tourism products, OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, and ethnic cuisine; experiential activities and tours within the Moc Chau National Tourist Area; a fruit-picking festival; paragliding; and the VTV Cup 2024 mountain bike race…
