Van Ho and Moc Chau are two districts located within the Moc Chau National Tourist Area. Eagerly awaiting the announcement ceremony recognizing Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area, Van Ho district has prepared all the necessary conditions to organize the ceremony's activities, with the highlight being the VTV Cup 2024 mountain bike race.

Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, informed: The District People's Committee has directed specialized agencies to coordinate with relevant units to prepare well for participation in activities within the framework of the announcement ceremony, such as: attending the Tourism Promotion Conference, themed "Orientation for the Green and Sustainable Development of Moc Chau National Tourist Area"; participating in the cultural space exhibition, introducing tourism products, OCOP products and ethnic cuisine; organizing experiential activities for sightseeing and tourism in Van Ho; coordinating the organization of the Vietnam Mountain Bike Race in Van Ho. At the same time, the district will strengthen the work of promoting and introducing the image of the land and people of Van Ho; introducing and promoting the potential and strengths of tourism development in the Moc Chau National Tourist Area.
A noteworthy and attractive event within the framework of tourism promotion activities, including the ceremony to announce the recognition of Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area in Van Ho district, is the mountain bike race, starting at 7:00 AM on May 19th at the district center.
The cycling race is an opportunity to promote and introduce the green tourism potential of Van Ho district to tourists; aiming to make mountain biking a unique experiential tourism product with its own local characteristics. Therefore, Van Ho district has coordinated to prepare the best conditions to successfully organize the cycling race, creating a positive impression on cyclists and tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Secretary General of the Vietnam Cycling Federation and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, informed: "We have surveyed and designed a beautiful race route with moderate difficulty to attract both professional and amateur athletes. The race route starts and finishes in front of the Van Ho District People's Committee, passing through various locations in the district with a distance of 11.4 km/lap, through vast green tea plantations, ethnic minority villages, peaceful scenery and fresh air, promising to bring an enjoyable experience to the racers."
The race attracted 268 registered athletes. This included 218 amateur athletes from over 40 cycling clubs nationwide and 50 professional athletes from sports delegations in 7 provinces and cities across the country. Many of these athletes have participated in the Southeast Asian Games and other international competitions, achieving high rankings. The amateur category has four events for each age group; the professional category has no age restrictions.
Currently, many cyclists have arrived in Van Ho to familiarize themselves with the race route. Excited about the race day, athlete Dinh Thi Nhu Quynh from Hoa Binh shared: “I compete in the professional category. I have trained, improved my fitness, thoroughly checked my bike, and test-ridden the route to develop a suitable strategy, hoping to achieve a high result. I have been to Moc Chau and Van Ho many times, experiencing the beautiful scenery and being very impressed with the friendly people. This time, participating in a mountain bike race in such beautiful scenery and fresh air will surely be an exciting experience for us.”

Workers from the Van Ho District Branch of the Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company are cleaning up the environment in the district center.
In recent years, Van Ho district has coordinated the organization of motorsports races, such as: the Vietnam Off-Road Motorcycle Race 2022 in Chieng Khoa commune; and the VTV Cup Off-Road Motorcycle Race 2023 in Van Ho commune, attracting a large number of domestic and international racers. Therefore, the district has gained experience in organizing motorsports races in a systematic and professional manner.

Ms. Mui Thi Thiep, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Ho commune, said: The race track follows a trail through four villages and sub-districts of the commune, including: Sao Do 1 sub-district, Sao Do 2 sub-district, Pa Che village, Hang Trung I village and Hang Trung II village. The People's Committee of the commune has propagated and mobilized the people to create favorable conditions for the Organizing Committee to design the race track, and mobilized people in the villages and sub-districts to clean up and hang flags along the race routes.
Mr. Hoang Trung Hieu, Director of the Son La Provincial Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company's branch in Van Ho district, said: The unit has focused its human resources and equipment on environmental sanitation, building public toilets, and ensuring a green, clean, and beautiful urban landscape, with a focus on routes along National Highway 6 and the main road in the district's administrative and political center.
It is expected that the number of tourists visiting Van Ho will increase significantly during the series of events. The district is paying close attention to healthcare and ensuring security and order. The district has directed hotels, guesthouses, accommodation establishments, and tourist attractions in the area to prepare facilities, security, fire prevention and control, environmental hygiene, and other necessary conditions to welcome tourists; and has intensified inspections of organizations and individuals operating cultural and tourism services.
Located right next to National Highway 6, A Chu Homestay in Hua Tat village, Van Ho commune, is an attractive community tourism destination on the journey to experience the Moc Chau National Tourist Area, with its unique Mong ethnic culture. Mr. Trang A Chu, owner of A Chu Homestay, shared: “We, those of us in the tourism service industry, are very happy to be holding the ceremony announcing the recognition of Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area. This is an opportunity to develop tourism and increase income for local households. A Chu Homestay has 10 private rooms and two shared stilt houses, with a capacity of about 60 guests per day. Currently, all rooms are fully booked. Our family, along with other community tourism households in the village, have renovated the rooms, prepared food, and had the hygiene and safety checked by the District Health Center to serve tourists.”

The event center is setting up the stage.
Van Ho district is ready and well-prepared for this important event, aiming to contribute to the success of the ceremony announcing the recognition of Moc Chau as a National Tourist Area. Hopefully, tourism in Van Ho district will experience a significant breakthrough, effectively exploiting the local tourism potential and strengths to promote socio-economic development.
