The cultural picture of ethnic groups in Moc Chau and Van Ho districts is quite diverse with unique features of the Mong, Dao, Thai, Muong ethnic cultures... These are traditional festivals, folk beliefs, folk songs, folk dances, traditional costumes... converging in a long-standing culture that has been passed down and preserved through many generations, creating invaluable cultural heritages of ethnic groups. Among them, we can mention: the coming-of-age ceremony, traditional weddings, the art of creating patterns on Dao ethnic costumes; clan worshiping ceremonies, the art of the panpipe of the Mong ethnic group; the Het Cha festival, the art of spreading the leaves of the Thai ethnic group..., which have been recognized as national intangible cultural heritages, and are currently being preserved, conserved, and restored to promote their values, serving tourism development at Moc Chau National Tourist Area.
Ms. Dinh Thi Huong, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Moc Chau district, shared: Tourists come to Moc Chau National Tourist Area not only because they love the poetic scenery and fresh climate but also because they are impressed by the land rich in cultural traditions and hospitality. Therefore, preserving and promoting the good values of national culture and developing green agriculture are identified as the two main foundations in the orientation of sustainable tourism development of Moc Chau district.
Moc Chau currently maintains more than 300 mass art troupes in villages, sub-regions, agencies, units, and schools. In particular, art troupes in community tourism villages, such as: Ang Village, Dong Sang Commune; Na Bo Village, Vat Village, Lun Village, Muong Sang Commune; Doi Village, Tan Lap Commune... always have regular activities, meeting the needs of tourists to enjoy performances with the local ethnic identity.
In Moc Chau, not only the community tourism villages but also famous destinations such as: Moc Chau Night Market - Walking Street, Moc Chau Island tourist area, restaurants, hotels... all have mass art troupes performing cultural programs imbued with national identity to serve tourism, creating a joyful and harmonious atmosphere, attracting tourists to participate. Especially, Moc Chau Cultural Tourism Week is held on the occasion of National Day holiday 2/9 or cultural and tourism events all have community cultural performances, re-enactment of traditional festivals, display of ethnic cultural spaces... helping Moc Chau tourism become more diverse, truly attractive to tourists.
Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of Van Ho District People's Committee, said: Every year, Van Ho District maintains traditional festivals such as Hoa Ban Festival, Hoa Dao Festival, creating highlights to attract tourists. This is also an opportunity to honor the unique traditional cultural values of the ethnic communities of Van Ho District, encourage and motivate people to preserve ethnic culture, contributing to tourism development. At the same time, convey the message of hospitality and friendliness of Van Ho land to a large number of people, domestic and foreign tourists, building Van Ho District into a friendly, safe and attractive destination.
Having directly experienced the cultural space at the 2024 Van Ho District Ban Flower Festival, Ms. Ha Thi Thanh Tram, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, excitedly said: I am very impressed with the cultural space of the ethnic groups recreated within the framework of the festival. Each ethnic group has its own unique and very special, interesting features, attracting visitors from afar.
